As a Territory Account Manager, you will play a key role in driving business growth, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding market presence across your assigned region. This field-based position combines strategic sales development with hands-on account management, offering the opportunity to work closely with distributors, builders, contractors, and industry professionals. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, maximizing territory performance, and delivering exceptional customer service. - Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities with builders, developers, distributors, and other key industry partners within the assigned territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with direct and indirect customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and ongoing account growth.
- Promote a broad portfolio of products and solutions while educating customers on new offerings, features, and market opportunities.
- Monitor regional construction activity, inventory requirements, and emerging market trends to proactively identify sales opportunities.
- Conduct regular customer visits, in-store consultations, and territory reviews to support sales growth and resolve customer concerns.
- Provide recommendations on inventory management, merchandising materials, and product placement to maximize sales performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support marketing initiatives, product evaluations, trade shows, customer events, and promotional activities.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales reports, forecasts, and territory documentation while ensuring timely communication with internal stakeholders.
- Negotiate and manage account-related issues including order follow-up, shipping concerns, credit matters, and service requests.
- Monitor competitive activity and provide market intelligence to support business planning and strategic decision-making.
- 3–5 years of proven success in sales, territory management, business development, or account management roles.
- Strong ability to prospect, develop new business opportunities, and consistently achieve sales targets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships.
- Strong consultative selling skills and business acumen, including an understanding of profitability and commercial performance.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, customer accounts, and projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently in a field-based sales environment.
- Positive attitude, strong initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Postsecondary education in Business or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience within the construction, building materials, hardware, security, or related industries is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with distribution networks, wholesale sales environments, or new construction markets is advantageous.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $59,623 to $93,694 CAD.
