Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for providing hands-on leadership and operational oversight of the hotel's Food & Beverage Department, with a primary focus on leading the day-to-day operation of the banquet and catering department. This position serves as the primary operational leader for banquet events, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, flawless execution, strong financial performance, and compliance with brand and company standards.
This role embraces a servant leadership philosophy, leading by example while maintaining high expectations and accountability for performance, professionalism, and guest service. The Assistant Director of Food & Beverage is expected to be highly visible, operationally engaged, and actively involved in the daily execution of events and restaurant operations.
This position is expected to spend the majority of its time leading banquet operations while remaining flexible to support restaurant operations and overall Food & Beverage performance when business demands require.
In addition to banquet leadership responsibilities, this position provides operational support for Meeker's Colorado Kitchen and other food and beverage outlets during peak business periods, holidays, special events, staffing shortages, and other business demands.

DoubleTree by Hilton Greeley at Lincoln Park is Northern Colorado's premier full-service hotel, featuring more than 15,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, upscale guest accommodations, and Meeker's Colorado Kitchen, a locally inspired restaurant and bar showcasing Colorado flavors, craft beverages, and genuine hospitality.
The hotel hosts a wide variety of social events, weddings, corporate meetings, conferences, and community gatherings throughout the year. The Assistant Director of Food & Beverage plays a critical leadership role in ensuring these events are executed at the highest level.
Essential Responsibilities
Banquet Operations Leadership
• Direct and oversee all banquet and catering operations from planning through execution.
• Ensure all banquet events are properly staffed, set, serviced, and broken down according to hotel standards.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings, event reviews, and operational walkthroughs.
• Review banquet event orders (BEOs) and ensure accurate communication of event details to all departments.
• Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, presentation, and service throughout all banquet spaces.
• Act as the primary operational contact during events and provide immediate resolution to service challenges.
• Maintain a visible presence during events and provide hands-on support as needed.
• Partner closely with Sales, Catering, Culinary, and Hotel Operations teams to ensure seamless event execution.
• Continuously evaluate banquet service standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
Leadership and Team Development
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop banquet captains, bartenders, servers, and set-up staff.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and guest-focused service.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, train, and retain top talent.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development.
• Hold team members accountable to attendance, conduct, grooming, safety, and service standards.
• Administer corrective action and performance improvement measures when necessary.
• Lead by example through active participation in daily operations.
Restaurant Operations Support
• Support operations at Meeker's Colorado Kitchen during periods of high volume, holidays, staffing shortages, and special events.
• Assist with floor management, guest relations, service recovery, staffing deployment, and operational oversight.
• Collaborate with restaurant leadership to ensure service standards are consistently achieved.
• Support special promotions, holiday programming, and food and beverage initiatives.
Financial and Administrative Responsibilities
• Assist in achieving departmental revenue, labor, profit, and guest satisfaction goals.
• Monitor labor costs and staffing levels to ensure efficient scheduling practices.
• Review payroll and timekeeping records for accuracy.
• Assist with inventory management, purchasing, and cost control initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to maximize banquet revenue and profitability.
• Ensure proper cash handling, POS procedures, and compliance with financial controls.
• Participate in forecasting, budgeting, and operational planning efforts.

Qualifications
Required • Minimum three (3) years of Food & Beverage management experience. • Minimum two (2) years of banquet, catering, or event operations leadership experience. • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment. • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
