The Business Development Senior Advisor will serve as a strategic partner to pharmaceutical manufacturers, leading relationship management, contract optimization, and growth initiatives. This role requires strong commercial judgment, the ability to influence stakeholders, and expertise in healthcare partnerships to maximize value across manufacturer, member, and organizational objectives.
- Manage and expand a portfolio of pharmaceutical manufacturer relationships, acting as the primary strategic point of contact.
- Lead business reviews, performance discussions, and strategic planning sessions to align goals and drive measurable outcomes.
- Review, negotiate, and support the execution of manufacturer agreements, renewals, amendments, and new contracting opportunities.
- Monitor contract performance, compliance, utilization trends, and market opportunities to identify risks and growth potential.
- Develop manufacturer-specific strategies to increase product participation, strengthen programs, and improve market performance.
- Analyze sales data, utilization metrics, market insights, and contract performance information to generate recommendations.
- Collaborate with contracting, sales, finance, analytics, operations, and leadership teams to execute business strategies.
- Identify opportunities for new products, partnerships, and contracting models that enhance value for stakeholders.
- Represent the organization in executive meetings, industry events, advisory boards, and strategic discussions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned manufacturer portfolios, therapeutic areas, and healthcare market trends.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in pharmaceutical partnerships, market access, contracting, or healthcare business development. This professional should combine strong relationship-building abilities with analytical thinking, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturer relations, GPO contracting, market access, account management, strategic partnerships, or a related healthcare business function.
- Experience reviewing, negotiating, or supporting pharmaceutical agreements, contract renewals, amendments, and performance initiatives.
- Strong ability to establish trusted relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience using data, business reviews, and performance metrics to identify opportunities and recommend solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating effectively across diverse teams.
- Strong understanding of healthcare markets, pharmaceutical manufacturers, specialty pharmacy, payer organizations, or related industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, pharmacy, supply chain, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with reliable high-speed internet connectivity.
- Competitive annual salary range of $126,300 - $210,500 USD, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
