Internship - Project Engineer
Overview
The Project Engineer Intern supports the engineering and project management team in the execution of Building Management System (BMS) and HVAC controls projects. This role provides hands-on exposure to system design, field coordination, documentation, and project delivery within a fast-paced construction and controls environment.

Job Responsibilities
The following represents general responsibilities; project-specific duties may vary based on scope, schedule, and field conditions:
- Support Project Engineers and Project Managers with day-to-day execution activities
- Assist in the development and review of BMS submittals, drawings, and technical documentation
- Review plans, specifications, and sequences of operation to understand system intent
- Track project deliverables, procurement status, and material deliveries
- Assist in developing and maintaining bill of materials (BOM) and equipment schedules
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Support field activities including site walks, device verification, and redline markups
- Organize and maintain project documentation (RFIs, submittals, O&M manuals)
- Maintain compliance with company standards, project requirements, and industry best practices
Education & Experience Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems and/or building automation systems preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred Exposure (Not Required)
- Building Management Systems (e.g., ALC or similar platforms)
- Controls wiring diagrams and sequences of operation
- Construction project workflows (submittals, RFIs, change orders)

- Strong willingness to learn and take direction
- Effective time management, organization, and multitasking skills
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Detail-oriented with the ability to verify and follow through on project information
- Comfortable working in both office and construction site environments
- Ability to support multiple projects with varying schedules and priorities
- Valid California Driver’s License with a clean record
