Job Description

Position Summary:

Under the guidance and direction of the HR Business Partner, the HR Generalist is responsible for enhancing department functions by planning, implementing and developing training, onboarding, and employee orientation programs, the administration of employee benefits, payroll administration, annual benefits audit preparation, maintaining employee handbook and HR procedures manual, and answer employee questions regarding pay, benefits, policies and procedures.

In addition the Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of hiring and interviewing staff, and enforcing company policies and practices.


Recruitment and Staffing (35%): KPI’s:

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions
  • Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Regularly updates job descriptions with KPI’s
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and facilitates the onboarding process, ensuring that new employees are integrated smoothly into the company culture and equipped with the necessary tools and information to succeed in their roles.

Employee Relations & Performance Management (30%)

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale
  • Assists in set up and administering of performance reviews

Compensation and Benefit (25%)

  • Ensure that payroll is processed accurately and on time, addressing any discrepancies that may arise.
  • Assist in administering employee compensation and benefits programs
  • Conducts salary benchmarking to compare the organization’s compensation packages with industry standards.

Compliance and Policy Development (10%)

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 2+ years experience in interviewing and hiring staff
  • At least 3 years of human resource management experience is preferred.
  • SHRM-CP preferred

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS system.

Product Knowledge - Has a broad knowledge of the products and services offered. Is aware of the features and pricing of the products and services they support. Is able to recommend the appropriate product or service that will meet the customer's needs.

Compliance Knowledge - In addition to having a solid knowledge of general bank-wide regulations, the employee has a thorough knowledge of regulations & laws that relates to his/her department. Other employees might rely on this employees’ compliance knowledge to answer questions.

Sales & Service - Is able to lead a team to achieve sales goals while balancing the needs of the customer. Coaches/teaches sales methods to those they supervise. Provides a consistent level of service to all internal and/or external customers. Maintains good communication by keeping the customer up-to-date on the progress of a request. Follows through on requests, questions, or complaints. Displays a positive, professional image and maintains composure at all times.
