Associate Section Chief of Vascular Surgery – WMCHealth

The Section of Vascular Surgery and Department of Surgery at Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) announce an exceptional opportunity for a physician leader to serve as the Associate Section Chief of Vascular Surgery at our principal academic campus in Valhalla, New York.

The successful candidate will have immediate responsibility in supporting the Section Chief in executing the strategy, vision, and clinical operations to promote WMCHealth flagship hospital as a premier institution and destination for vascular care. The role of the Associate Chief will be to lead a talented team of vascular surgeons, wound and vein specialists to further identify opportunities to grow specialty services, maintain quality and advance organizational initiatives including safety, patient satisfaction and accountability. The Associate Section Chief will work closely with cardiology, cardiothoracic, plastic surgery, trauma and orthopedic service line leaders to ensure coordinated planning and support for all related services and patient care initiatives in close collaboration with Section and Department leadership.

The ideal candidate will be a regionally recognized vascular surgeon and physician leader with an outstanding track record of program development, resident and fellow teaching and independent research experience, demonstrate exceptional clinical expertise and technical proficiency, deliver outstanding patient outcomes, and assist in leading the Section with a collaborative vision to advance the Vascular Surgery Program across the region. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills, strong leadership and collaborative qualities to oversee further growth of the Section of Vascular Surgery. Faculty appointment is available at New York Medical College, commensurate with rank and qualifications.

This new physician will join a group of eight employed and four affiliated vascular surgeons with a strong reputation for excellence in patient care and an established track-record across four regional system hospitals in a high‑volume, academically focused vascular program within a major quaternary care referral center and an accredited vascular surgery fellowship program. The Section of Vascular Surgery provides comprehensive open and endovascular care to a diverse patient population across the Hudson Valley region in all aspects of vascular care with emphasis on complex aortic diseases, lower extremity occlusive disease, complex hemodialysis access and the full spectrum of venous diseases.

Academic appointment at New York Medical College will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and academic achievements.

This is a full-time, employed faculty position within the WMCHealth academic group practice and includes comprehensive benefits and malpractice coverage.
