People & Culture Coordinator

Three Blue Ducks | Sydney or Byron Bay Based

We're seeking a highly organised, proactive and people-focused People & Culture Coordinator to support our growing business across multiple locations in Sydney, Melbourne, Tumut, Bellingen, Byron, Brunswick Heads & our newest venture in the Southern Highlands. Based in either Sydney or Byron Bay, this role will work closely with venue leaders and the operations team to strengthen our people practices, maintain compliance standards, and help foster an exceptional workplace culture.

This is a unique opportunity to join one of Australia's most respected hospitality groups in a role that spans people, culture, compliance, risk management, payroll and employee engagement.

The Role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will support the business across the full employee lifecycle while ensuring key compliance and risk management systems are maintained across the group.

People & Culture

  • Coordinate recruitment, advertising and candidate management and ensure all positions are quick filled.

  • Develop and maintain position descriptions

  • Manage onboarding and induction programs

  • Work with the training & development manager to ensure staff are identified and upskilled

  • Support performance review and appraisal processes

  • Assist with employee relations matters, complaints and disciplinary processes

  • Conduct exit interviews and identify improvement opportunities by facilitating employee surveys, feedback programs and culture projects.

  • Help drive employee engagement, recognition and wellbeing initiatives

  • Organise staff events, management retreats and team-building activities

  • Manage EAP and mental health initiatives

  • Reduce employee turnover and improve retention

HR Administration

  • Manage & check payroll (not process) to ensure it is done accurately and on time.

  • Prepare employment contracts and documentation

  • Manage references and employment checks

  • Support award interpretation and salary administration

  • Assist with bonus and incentive programs

  • Maintain employee records and HR systems

  • Manage visa monitoring and employment compliance requirements

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Maintain liquor licensing and RSA compliance requirements (through onboarding)

  • Support incident investigations and risk mitigation processes

  • Manage workers compensation administration and return-to-work coordination and work with external workers comp insurance company and coordinate WHS initiatives and committee activities

  • Maintain workplace policies, declarations and compliance registers

  • Oversee First Aid and Fire Warden programs & maintain emergency evacuation procedures and documentation

About You

You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys working with people while also bringing strong attention to detail and operational discipline.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience in HR, People & Culture, Compliance or Operations Administration

  • Strong organisational and project management skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

  • Knowledge of Fair Work, employment legislation and WHS requirements

  • Confidence working across multiple sites and stakeholder groups

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach

  • Hospitality, retail, tourism or multi-site business experience highly regarded
