You will ensure that complex software and hardware updates are delivered safely, reliably, and at scale across autonomous vehicle fleets.
Working at the intersection of engineering, safety, systems, and product teams, you will design processes that enable confident and data-driven deployments.
You will play a critical role in validating system readiness, managing operational risks, and maintaining high standards for safety-critical technology.
This position requires both strategic oversight and deep technical understanding of autonomous systems, software releases, and operational environments.
You will help shape scalable deployment frameworks that support innovation while meeting customer and regulatory expectations.
Your work will directly contribute to the safe adoption of autonomous solutions across global aviation operations.

Accountabilities:

  • Support autonomous vehicle onboarding processes, including initial setup, commissioning, validation, and first operational deployments.
  • Lead software release management activities, including release criteria, quality gates, testing requirements, and production approvals.
  • Partner with engineering and safety teams to validate releases through simulation, controlled testing, shadow operations, and supervised deployments.
  • Coordinate software updates across vehicle fleets while maintaining operational availability and rollback readiness.
  • Define and maintain configuration management processes covering hardware components, firmware versions, system parameters, and connectivity settings.
  • Own change management workflows and lead reviews for modifications affecting vehicle configurations and operational systems.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and supporting evidence required for customer, operational, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop scalable deployment frameworks that enable safe growth while supporting rapid technology advancement.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with experience managing safety-critical deployments and complex cross-functional programs. You should have a deep understanding of software systems, autonomous technologies, and operational processes, with the ability to translate technical requirements into reliable execution strategies.

  • Extensive experience developing, managing, or supporting safety-critical autonomous system deployments.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, system architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and align engineering, product, and safety stakeholders around shared objectives.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both engineering teams and business stakeholders.
  • Experience managing release processes, validation workflows, configuration management, or operational readiness programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical details and broader system-level considerations.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience building safety cultures within aviation, robotics, autonomous vehicles, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with airport operations, airline environments, or autonomous ground operations.
  • Experience with safety standards for complex autonomous systems, including ISO 26262, ISO 21448, UL 4600, IEC 61508, ANSI B56.5, ISO3691, or ANSI 15.08.
  • Experience working with large-scale fleet deployments or highly automated operational environments.
Benefits:
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge autonomous technology transforming aviation operations.
  • Remote and hybrid work flexibility depending on location.
  • Collaborative environment working alongside engineering, safety, and product experts.
  • Opportunity to influence deployment strategies and operational processes at scale.
