Senior Product Owner - Corporate and Financial Systems

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Owner - Corporate and Financial Systems based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to shape technology solutions that support critical corporate functions and business operations.
The Senior Product Owner will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring priorities are aligned and value is delivered effectively.
You will lead product ownership activities across Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, and other corporate systems while driving process improvements.
The position requires a strong understanding of business needs, Agile delivery practices, and enterprise technology environments.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define roadmaps, manage priorities, and deliver scalable solutions.

Accountabilities:

The Senior Product Owner will be responsible for maximizing the value of technology investments by managing product priorities, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring successful delivery of enterprise solutions. This role requires strong collaboration between business and technical teams to improve operational efficiency, reporting capabilities, compliance, and user experience.

  • Serve as the Product Owner for technology teams supporting Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, and other corporate business functions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and IT teams to define priorities, maintain product roadmaps, and align delivery plans with organizational objectives.
  • Manage and prioritize product backlogs to ensure teams focus on the highest-value initiatives.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements, acceptance criteria, testing strategies, and release plans.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, IT Planning teams, and stakeholders to support effective Agile delivery.
  • Facilitate communication between business and technology teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of solutions.
  • Communicate project status, delivery updates, risks, releases, and key decisions transparently.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on business processes, system functionality, reporting, and operational effectiveness.
  • Champion Agile practices, product ownership standards, and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Monitor delivery outcomes, stakeholder satisfaction, and business risks while identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and work tracking through enterprise tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Support additional product ownership responsibilities and strategic technology initiatives as required.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings experience in product ownership, business analysis, or technology delivery, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and translate business requirements into effective solutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst, or similar technology-focused role.
  • Experience supporting Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or other corporate business systems preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes, financial operations, and enterprise business workflows.
  • Experience working with SAP or other ERP platforms is highly desirable.
  • Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies, backlog management, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while balancing immediate business needs with long-term strategic goals.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex situations and make sound decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into practical technology solutions.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic environments with multiple stakeholders and evolving priorities.
