Health Information Analyst Position Summary
The Health Information Analyst performs specialized clerical and computerized duties to assure the quality and the completeness of the medical record. Assures completeness of the medical record by assigning deficiencies to the physician's in the Optical Imaging System. Utilizes all hospital wide computer systems to assign accurate information to the patient's chart. Assists in the evaluation of methods and participates in problem-solving. Provides assistance to customers and hospital personnel.
Health Information Analyst Position Requirements
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of medical terminology course and/or medical office work history preferred.
- Computer experience required.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations preferred.
Experience
- One to two years experience in the Medical Information Department, preferably as a Customer Service Tech, with emphasis on chart analysis and chart count.
- One to two years experience in computer entry and knowledge of Windows preferred.
Health Information Analyst Work Schedule
- Full time – one shift, DAY (8 am to 4 pm), Monday-Friday.
- Weekend and overtime only necessary due to work volumes.
