Specialist Talent Acquisition

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Specialist Talent Acquisition based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to manage end-to-end recruitment across the United States and Canada within a dynamic, international environment. You will play a key role in identifying, engaging, and securing high-quality talent for a range of positions and business functions. Working closely with hiring managers, you will translate business needs into effective sourcing and recruitment strategies. The position combines candidate engagement, market intelligence, talent pipeline development, and recruitment analytics. You will also contribute to strengthening the employer brand and delivering a positive, professional candidate experience. Accountabilities:
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for assigned positions across the United States and Canada, from sourcing and initial screening through interviews, selection, offers, and reference/background checks.
  • Develop compelling job advertisements and recruitment materials aligned with role requirements and employer-brand standards.
  • Publish and maintain job advertisements across career websites, job boards, social media, and other relevant recruitment channels.
  • Source qualified candidates through resume databases, professional networks, social media, employee referrals, and other talent acquisition channels.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs, ensuring access to qualified candidates when new opportunities arise.
  • Partner with recruitment agencies when appropriate, communicating position requirements, candidate profiles, and recruitment expectations.
  • Review resumes and credentials, assess candidate qualifications against job requirements, and conduct initial interviews for roles across different levels.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and maintain clear communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Develop strong relationships with hiring managers to understand business priorities, workforce requirements, position profiles, and recruitment needs.
  • Advise hiring managers on talent availability, recruitment trends, market conditions, and effective sourcing strategies.
  • Build knowledge of relevant business and functional areas to identify and attract high-quality talent effectively.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for candidates, promoting a positive employer brand and ensuring a professional and engaging candidate experience.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records, interview outcomes, and recruitment activity within the applicant tracking system.
  • Provide hiring managers and relevant stakeholders with recruitment progress updates, analytical reports, and insights on open positions.
  • Evaluate recruitment methods and processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement initiatives that increase sourcing and hiring effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • At least 1.5 years of experience in talent sourcing, recruiting, talent acquisition, or a related recruitment function.
  • Experience managing recruitment activities across multiple roles, business functions, or geographic markets is an advantage.
  • Previous recruitment experience within clinical research, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences environments is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience using applicant tracking systems, resume databases, social media platforms, candidate management systems, and other recruitment technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of candidate sourcing techniques, screening methodologies, and structured interview practices.
  • Understanding of employment legislation, recruitment compliance, and general human resources principles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with candidates, hiring managers, recruitment agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess candidate qualifications objectively and match skills and experience to business and role requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple open positions and competing priorities effectively.
  • Proactive and resourceful approach to sourcing, with the ability to identify creative channels and strategies for reaching qualified talent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret recruitment data and use insights to improve hiring outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global and cross-functional environment.
  • A candidate-focused mindset and genuine interest in delivering a positive recruitment experience.
