Job Description

Field Deployment Analyst (CBP)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Field Deployment Analyst (CBP) based in the United States.

This is a highly hands-on field deployment role supporting critical government operations across remote and often challenging locations.
You will travel extensively to install, configure, troubleshoot, refresh, and validate infrastructure and end-user equipment at operational sites.
The role requires strong technical versatility across networking hardware, cabling, and end-user technology rather than narrow specialization.
You will work closely with network, cloud, mobility, and site teams while frequently operating independently in locations far from traditional support resources.
Success depends on sound judgment, adaptability, preparation, and the ability to make defensible decisions when field conditions differ from the documented plan.
You will also ensure deployments are properly documented, operationally sustainable, and completed with minimal disruption to ongoing activities.
This is an ideal opportunity for a technically capable field professional who thrives on travel, autonomy, and mission-critical work.

Accountabilities
  • Travel extensively, potentially up to 90–95%, to operational sites across the United States, including remote and austere locations.
  • Install, configure, turn up, refresh, repair, and validate infrastructure and end-user equipment at assigned deployment locations.
  • Verify that deployed equipment works in actual operating conditions before leaving the site and ensure local personnel understand how to use it.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, networking, cabling, and end-user technology issues that cannot be resolved through remote support.
  • Coordinate with network engineers, cloud and mobility teams, site leadership, and other technical stakeholders to complete deployments successfully.
  • Assess actual site conditions and adapt deployment plans when documentation, infrastructure, or equipment differs from expectations.
  • Exercise independent judgment in the field, escalating issues when they exceed assigned authority while taking ownership of decisions that fall within the role.
  • Prepare thoroughly for each deployment by anticipating equipment, access, environmental, logistical, and technical requirements.
  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation reflecting the equipment and configurations actually deployed, including deviations from original plans.
  • Document site-specific conditions, troubleshooting lessons, and deployment considerations so future teams can work more efficiently.
  • Plan and execute work around operational schedules, minimizing disruption to personnel and maintaining continuity wherever possible.
  • Communicate deployment activities, timelines, risks, and expected service interruptions to site leadership before and during field work.
  • Ensure every deployment leaves the location fully operational rather than simply completing a visit or installation checklist.
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • An active CBP Background Investigation (CBP BI) and EOD are strongly preferred; candidates without an active investigation may be considered and can begin the clearance process.
  • Experience deploying, refreshing, troubleshooting, or maintaining technology at unfamiliar field locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in locations where immediate technical support may be several hours away.
  • Experience adapting to real-world site conditions when documentation or deployment plans do not accurately reflect the environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within operational environments where schedules and priorities may be outside your direct control.
  • Broad technical capability across networking hardware, end-user equipment, and structured cabling.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to explain and document field decisions.
  • Excellent preparation, organization, communication, and follow-through.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or CCNA are valuable but are not a substitute for hands-on field experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, potentially 90–95% of the time.
  • Comfortable working at remote and austere locations, including unconditioned spaces and environments that may require physical equipment handling or work at height.
  • Availability to work outside standard business hours when required by continuously operating sites.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation: Salary range pending final publication.
  • $10,000 signing bonus for candidates with an active CBP BI, payable after 90 days under standard terms.
  • Extensive travel: Remote role with travel to operational locations across the United States.
  • Health insurance and other healthcare-related benefit options.
  • Life insurance coverage.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and holiday pay.
  • Short-term and long-term disability benefits.
  • Retirement benefits to support long-term financial planning.
  • Learning and development opportunities for continued professional growth.
  • Additional optional benefits and elections may be available depending on the position.
  • Opportunity to contribute to critical national security and civilian missions through hands-on technical work.
  • A collaborative culture emphasizing helpfulness, honesty, humility, continuous improvement, and strong execution.
