Essential Functions

  • Preparation of federal and multi-state corporate income tax filings and associated work papers, including consolidations and unitary return filings
  • Manage fixed asset software, including review of capitalized assets, calculation of federal and state depreciation, and preparation of tangible property tax returns
  • Preparation and submission of tax filing extensions and estimated tax payments.
  • Responding to tax notices and communications with federal and state tax authorities
  • Assist with the completion and review of corporate income tax provisions (ASC 740/FAS 109)
  • Research federal and state tax laws and assist with tax department administration.

Education, Skills, Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, CPA a Plus!
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax department
  • Experience with federal and multi-state corporate income tax return preparation is necessary
  • Ability to manage fixed assets, understanding of tax depreciation concepts preferred
  • Insurance tax experience (Property and casualty) is a plus
  • Knowledgeable with tax return preparation and research software platforms, experience with Thomson Reuters “OneSource” and “Checkpoint” and plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Detail-oriented, efficient, and able to multi-task well
  • Strong planning and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Team oriented, and excellent communication skills
