Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Director to join our team. As the Human Resources Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations, including training and development, benefits administration, program management, and performance management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR processes and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment/Hiring - Manage the recruitment process; oversee the onboarding and orientation process. Provide support and guidance to managers in the areas of compensation, compliance, talent development, succession planning, performance management, retention strategies, and effective record-keeping and general HR related issues. Collaborate with operations managers to assess workforce-planning needs. Determine recruitment strategies for open and future roles and provide support and guidance in the recruitment process; proactively identify cost effective recruitment sources and programs. Build effective partnerships with local agencies, universities, vocational schools, etc. to source talent for open roles.
- Payroll - Overseeing and supervising payroll administration in ADP Workforce Now Software.
- Employee Relations - Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns and inquiries. Investigate and resolve employee complaints, conflicts, and issues in a fair and timely manner. Counsel operations managers on employee relation issues through the consistent and equitable application of company policies and procedures; assist in the resolution of employee complaints, grievances, etc.; conduct investigations. Create an environment of positive employee relations; balance business needs with employee needs, establish trust and credibility with employees and be seen as approachable and fair.
- Coaching - Provide coaching and support to managers on handling employee relations matters effectively
- Plan administrator - for benefit plans, annual benefit plan renewals, Open enrollment, and Plan administrator for 401k Plan.
- Employee Leave administrator – MA Paid Family and Medical Leave for our MA employees and Unum STD for our NH employees.
- Compliance – consistently track all Federal and State law changes that affect the organization. Deep knowledge of MA employment law required, knowledge of NH laws highly preferred. Ability to create policies and procedures in compliance with applicable laws.
- Discipline and Termination – responsible for overseeing discipline and termination of employees, including guiding managers in the process. Also responsible for performing exit interviews.
- Training – Assist in the development, implementation and communication of company policies and procedures. Oversee the training and development program for the company, including career pathing programs for employees.
- Performance – Lead the annual performance review cycle, including training managers on proper review techniques.
Qualifications
- Five + years of relevant HR experience; preferably in an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- A high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- We seek a self-starter who has a creative approach to implementing HR practices. The successful candidate must have the demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to prioritize workload effectively.
- The ability to interact with all levels of employees is key.
