Job Description

About IW Group

IW Group is the leading multicultural advertising and marketing agency with offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. Named Ad Age’s 2025 Multicultural Agency of the Year and recognized by PRWeek for Best in Multicultural Marketing, IW Group produces culture-shaping campaigns for global and national brands.

IW Group drives impactful work by blending storytelling, cultural insight, and innovation to achieve measurable results. We represent multiple brands and deliver distinctive multicultural and cross-generational campaigns.

The Role

IW Group is seeking experienced bilingual language professionals to translate, adapt,

proofread, and refine English-language marketing content for culturally specific

audiences.

This is not a word-for-word translation role. The ideal candidate can preserve the original

strategy and intent while adapting copy so that it feels natural, persuasive, culturally

authentic, and appropriate for the intended audience.

The specialist will work across written and spoken content, reviewing translations created

by both human translators and AI-enabled tools. They will also review human-recorded

and AI-generated audio and provide live language and performance coaching during

voice-over recording sessions.

What You'll Do

•Translate and adapt English advertising, social media, digital, video, and audio copy into

target language(s).

•Transcreate dialogue, calls to action, humor, slang, and culturally specific references

rather than relying on literal translation.

•Proofread and refine human- and AI-generated translations for accuracy, grammar,

fluency, consistency, cultural relevance, and brand voice.

•Ensure that adapted copy preserves the original message, tone, strategy, and marketing

intent.

•Review human-recorded and AI-generated voice tracks for pronunciation, pacing,

cadence, tone, emotional delivery, naturalness, and script accuracy.

•Attend voice-over recording sessions and provide live language, pronunciation, and

performance coaching.

•Make real-time script adjustments when translated dialogue sounds unnatural, does not

fit the performance, or exceeds broadcast timing requirements.

•Identify terminology, localization, cultural, and stylistic issues and recommend clear

solutions.

•Collaborate with creative, production, account, and post-production teams to maintain

consistency across written and audio deliverables.

•Deliver accurate work under fast-paced production timelines and quick-turnaround

schedules.

What You'll Bring

Native or near-native fluency in English and at least one of the designated target languages:

o Mandarin, with proficiency in written Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese

o Cantonese, with proficiency in written Traditional Chinese

o Korean

o Tagalog/Taglish

o Vietnamese

•At least two years of professional experience in translation, transcreation,

localization, bilingual copywriting, advertising, or related language work.

•Demonstrated ability to adapt marketing copy rather than translate it literally.

•Strong understanding of cultural nuances, idioms, slang, generational language, and

audience-specific communication.

•A strong ear for pronunciation, vocal delivery, pacing, tone, and natural spoken

language.

•Ability to provide clear, constructive coaching to voice-over talent.

•Ability to make accurate language and script changes in real time during recording

sessions.

•Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently under tight

deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience adapting copy for advertising, entertainment, social media, or consumer

brands.

•Experience reviewing synthetic speech, AI-generated voices, or AI-assisted

translations.

•Familiarity with television commercials, online video, radio, podcasts, or other

audio production.

•Availability during Pacific Time business hours when recording or production

schedules require.

Compensation: This is an independent contractor position. Compensation is project-

based and varies depending on project scope and deliverables. Rates will be shared upon

engagement. Rate will range between $75.00-$270.00 depending on project.
