This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP, Manufacturer & Specialty Network Partnerships based in United States.

The VP, Manufacturer & Specialty Network Partnerships will serve as a senior leader responsible for building and scaling strategic relationships across pharmaceutical manufacturers, specialty pharmacy partners, distributors, and specialty provider networks.
This role sits at the intersection of healthcare innovation, commercial strategy, and network development, helping create a more transparent and efficient specialty care ecosystem.
You will shape partnership strategies that improve drug acquisition economics, expand access to specialty therapies, and deliver measurable value for employers and patients.
The position requires a strong understanding of specialty pharmacy, infusion care, distribution models, and healthcare market dynamics.
As a key operator within the organization, you will manage high-value external relationships while influencing the evolution of the broader commercial model.

Accountabilities:

The VP, Manufacturer & Specialty Network Partnerships will lead the development and management of a broad external partner ecosystem while supporting the evolution of commercial strategies that improve affordability, access, and care outcomes. This role combines relationship leadership, business modeling, network expansion, and team management to drive sustainable growth.

  • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate and refine strategies involving manufacturer agreements, purchasing models, distribution relationships, and network economics.
  • Analyze how changes across manufacturer, pharmacy, and provider partnerships impact acquisition costs, partner value, and employer savings.
  • Translate commercial strategies into compelling value propositions for manufacturers, providers, and healthcare stakeholders.
  • Monitor healthcare market trends, competitive activity, and industry developments to inform partnership strategies.
  • Own and manage strategic relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, including market access, brand, and trade stakeholders.
  • Lead manufacturer partnership initiatives, business reviews, presentations, and ongoing relationship management activities.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with specialty pharmacies, distributors, wholesalers, and related healthcare organizations.
  • Support initiatives involving specialty drug access, limited-distribution programs, specialty pharmacy partnerships, and distribution operations.
  • Lead growth and oversight of specialty provider networks by identifying market opportunities, recruiting new partners, and supporting onboarding efforts.
  • Manage relationships with network partners, ensuring strong performance, communication, and issue resolution.
  • Directly manage team members supporting analytics, marketing, and account management activities while setting priorities and ensuring high-quality execution.
  • Collaborate with Clinical, Analytics, Operations, and executive teams to develop partner strategies, reporting, and growth initiatives.
  • Provide visibility into partnership pipelines, network performance, opportunities, and potential risks.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare industry experience with a strong background in pharmaceutical partnerships, specialty pharmacy, distribution, payer relationships, or related healthcare ecosystems. You should be comfortable building strategic relationships, analyzing complex commercial models, and leading initiatives that create measurable business impact.

  • 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical market access, specialty pharmacy, distribution, trade, PBM, GPO, health plan, or specialty provider operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing direct relationships with manufacturers, distributors, payers, or healthcare partners.
  • Strong understanding of specialty healthcare economics, including ASP, WAC, GTN, 340B, buy-and-bill models, chargebacks, and specialty infusion site-of-care dynamics.
  • Ability to evaluate complex commercial models and balance acquisition costs, partner value, and customer savings.
  • Experience managing external partnerships, including contracting, network development, performance management, and relationship strategy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present executive-level materials.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives across multiple teams.
  • 2+ years of people management experience or demonstrated readiness to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Experience in specialty pharmacy, healthcare distribution, infusion networks, PBM, or integrated care organizations preferred.
  • Familiarity with prior authorization processes, REMS programs, limited-distribution drugs, and specialty drug access strategies preferred.
  • Experience leading provider or partner network recruitment, expansion, and contracting initiatives preferred.
