About the Role:
The Swiss CNC Optimization Programmer plays a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and precision of CNC machining operations within the manufacturing environment. This position focuses on programming, optimizing, and troubleshooting Swiss-type CNC machines to produce high-quality, complex components with minimal waste and downtime. The role requires close collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure that machining processes meet stringent specifications and delivery schedules. The programmer will analyze existing CNC programs and implement improvements to reduce cycle times and improve tool life. Ultimately, this role ensures that manufacturing operations achieve optimal productivity while maintaining the highest standards of product quality and consistency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and optimize CNC programs specifically for Swiss-type CNC machines to manufacture precision parts.
- Analyze and refine existing tooling to improve machining efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize tool wear.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand part specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Troubleshoot programming, bar feeder, and machining issues, providing timely solutions to minimize production delays.
- Maintain detailed documentation of CNC programs, tooling setups, and process changes for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct regular reviews of machining processes to identify opportunities for automation and process enhancements.
- Train and support machine operators on program changes and best practices to ensure consistent production quality.
- Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude; cooperate with co-workers, management, internal and external customers, etc.
- Execute daily process improvement using lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Maintain work area by the use of 6S principles
- Work safely at all times and report any unsafe conditions or injuries to your supervisor or manager immediately

Qualifications

- Experience with CAD/CAM software such as ESPRIT Swiss for program development.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
- Proven experience programming Swiss-type CNC machines using Fanuc or similar controls.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, bar feeder, and materials used in precision manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with CNC simulation and verification software to validate programs before production.
Education
- AA or Technical Certification in Journeyman and/or up to 10 years’ relevant work experience preferred.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to perform calculations utilizing arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division normally attained through elementary school education.
- Ability to perform calculations utilizing algebra and fractions.
Computer Skills
- Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Must be proficient in ESPRIT Swiss and Solidworks software

Pay Range
The hiring range for this role is $85,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually. The hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
