JOB SUMMARY:
We are searching for our next SUPER STAR!! The Infection Control Nurse LVN is responsible for planning and implementing surveillance, prevention and control of infection for areas within the scope of the clinic. The Infection Control Nurse LVN serves as an active member of the Safety & Infection Control Committee, coordinates reporting as required by state and local health agencies and maintains current level of knowledge by participation in seminars pertinent in infection control.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for organization-wide implementation of the Infection Control Plan.
- Coordinates data collection relating to the occurrence of nosocomial and significant non-nosocomial infection among patients.
- Implements, coordinates and evaluates measures designed to prevent and control infection within the clinic.
- Collaborates with health care providers in identifying appropriate employee health follow-up related to prevention and control of disease exposure.
- Coordinates and performs field compliance reviews and assessment of written standards across the organization pertaining to employee health and Infection Control, Medication Management, Waived Testing, Provision of Care, Medical Equipment Management Joint Commission standards and National Patient Safety Goals.
- Coordinates employee health in-service educational programs for personnel in collaboration with supervisors and/or managers.
- Establishes and conducts a surveillance program for infection control as required by the Safety & Infection Control Committee.
- Actively participates in CentroMed’s Compliance Performance Improvement Program with regular reporting of activities.
- Disseminates information related to infection control to the entire organization.
- Responsible for the development and ongoing refinement of infection prevention policies and procedures based on evidence-based guidelines.
- Provides training and orientation to staff on infection control.
- Understands and upholds CentroMed’s mission and values relating to ethics, integrity, safety, corporate responsibility and objectives
- Actively participates in maintaining high levels of excellent customer service internally and externally
- Abides by all policies and procedures set forth by CentroMed
- Ensure the protection and security of all personal, confidential and identifiable information in a professional and responsible manner and carry out all measures to prevent from any unauthorized disclosures. Demonstrating and maintaining the standards and requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Assists in training new employees in performing their job duties as requested.
- Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Performs other duties assigned.
- Work must be performed on-site as designated

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Vocational Nursing. Must be currently licensed with the Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. CPR Certification.
Experience: Experience from a clinic or hospital preferred.
Other: Bilingual/Bicultural Spanish
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
