Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) – Application for Future Roles based in Canada.
This is an opportunity to join a high-growth sales organization through a future-facing talent pipeline for Outbound Business Development Representative roles. You’ll be at the front line of prospect engagement, creating meaningful conversations with potential customers through strategic outbound outreach. The role is designed for ambitious professionals who want to build a long-term career in technology sales. You’ll develop expertise in prospecting, qualification, discovery, sales technology, and pipeline generation while working closely with Account Executives. Expect a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment where coaching, experimentation, and continuous improvement are part of the daily experience. Successful BDRs can progress through a structured career path toward full-cycle sales and Account Executive opportunities.
- Execute high-volume outbound prospecting campaigns through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other digital channels, with an expected activity level of approximately 60–100+ outreach activities per day.
- Research target accounts, identify relevant prospects, and personalize outreach based on business needs, industry context, and potential pain points.
- Partner closely with Account Executives to prioritize strategic accounts, refine prospecting approaches, and generate qualified sales opportunities.
- Engage prospects in thoughtful conversations, uncover business challenges, assess fit, need, and urgency, and schedule high-quality discovery meetings.
- Consistently achieve or exceed performance targets related to activity, qualified meetings, pipeline generation, and other BDR KPIs.
- Use CRM, sales intelligence, prospecting, communication, and AI-powered tools to research accounts, organize outreach, and improve productivity.
- Actively participate in coaching and feedback, rapidly applying new techniques and insights to improve sales performance.
- Take ownership of professional development by continuously strengthening communication, objection handling, prospecting, qualification, and sales skills.
- Contribute to a competitive but collaborative team environment by sharing learnings, testing new approaches, and maintaining high standards of execution.
- Build the foundation for progression into increasingly senior sales roles, with the potential to advance toward full-cycle Account Executive responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ambition to build a long-term career in sales, rather than treating the position as a short-term opportunity or stepping stone to another function.
- Previous success in sales is valuable, but candidates may also demonstrate strong potential through achievement in other goal-oriented environments such as athletics, fundraising, hospitality, customer service, or other performance-driven roles.
- Strong resilience, coachability, curiosity, and willingness to seek and apply feedback.
- A results-oriented mindset with a proven ability or desire to set ambitious goals and consistently work toward exceeding them.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the confidence to initiate and conduct cold calls with prospective customers.
- Ability to ask thoughtful questions, understand customer challenges, and communicate clearly and persuasively.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment where priorities evolve and experimentation is encouraged.
- Strong technological fluency and willingness to adopt new technologies, including AI-powered tools, as part of everyday sales activities.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems without waiting for detailed instructions.
- Professional-level English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada and current residence in Ontario for the advertised remote opportunity.
- Familiarity with tools such as CRM platforms, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, sales intelligence platforms, communication tools, and AI-enabled prospecting technologies is an advantage.
- Base salary: approximately CA$50,000–CA$70,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
- For the stated BDR compensation structure: approximately CA$50,600 base salary + CA$20,700 on-target commission, for CA$71,300 in on-target earnings (OTE).
- Opportunity to participate in applicable equity programs, including restricted stock units, depending on role and eligibility.
- Potential eligibility for overtime pay where applicable.
- Structured BDR career progression designed to support advancement toward increasingly senior sales positions and Account Executive opportunities.
- Remote work flexibility for eligible employees, combined with opportunities to build strong connections with teammates and peers.
- Access to a broad technology ecosystem including CRM, sales intelligence, AI-powered prospecting, collaboration, and productivity tools.
- A highly collaborative, coaching-oriented environment focused on continuous learning and professional development.
- A culture that values ownership, customer focus, adaptability, bold thinking, and high-quality execution.
- Accommodations and alternative arrangements are available for candidates who require support during the hiring or onboarding process.
- This posting is intended to build a pipeline of qualified candidates for future BDR openings; there is no immediate position available at this time.
