ServiceNow Solution Architect HAM/SAM

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a ServiceNow Solution Architect — HAM/SAM based in Canada.

This role leads the architecture and delivery of enterprise ServiceNow solutions focused on Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), and broader IT Asset Management (ITAM).
You will translate complex business needs into scalable, sustainable architectures that improve asset visibility, governance, compliance, and technology investment decisions.
As a trusted technical advisor, you will work directly with clients and delivery teams throughout discovery, design, implementation, deployment, and optimization.
The role spans ServiceNow capabilities including HAM, SAM, CMDB, CSDM, ITOM, ITSM, Discovery, Service Catalog, and Procurement.
You will shape data strategies and integrations across enterprise platforms, endpoint-management tools, procurement systems, ERP environments, and discovery sources.
Working across architects, developers, project managers, and stakeholders, you will provide technical leadership while ensuring high-quality, measurable delivery outcomes.
This is an opportunity to influence enterprise technology strategies while solving complex asset-management challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead end-to-end solution architecture for ServiceNow HAM and SAM engagements, from discovery and requirements gathering through implementation, deployment, optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a senior technical advisor across HAM, SAM, ITAM, CMDB, CSDM, ITOM, and ITSM, providing guidance aligned with platform capabilities and industry best practices.
  • Facilitate customer workshops, architecture reviews, requirements sessions, and technical design discussions, translating business objectives into practical solution architectures.
  • Design HAM solutions covering the complete hardware lifecycle, including procurement, receiving, inventory, stockroom management, assignment, transfers, refresh, returns, retirement, and disposal.
  • Architect SAM solutions covering software discovery, normalization, software models, publisher content, license entitlements, reconciliation, compliance, reclamation, and optimization.
  • Define strategies for maintaining accurate, trusted asset and configuration data across ServiceNow and connected enterprise systems, including ERP, procurement, endpoint-management, discovery, and contract-management platforms.
  • Establish data governance, process controls, and quality standards that improve the completeness, accuracy, consistency, and auditability of asset, entitlement, contract, and CMDB information.
  • Design integrations and technical architectures using appropriate APIs, web services, authentication mechanisms, and enterprise integration technologies.
  • Provide engineers with architectural blueprints, technical specifications, data models, integration requirements, and implementation guidance.
  • Oversee solution quality across configuration, customization, integrations, data migration, testing, security, deployment, and operational readiness.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, data-quality issues, integration gaps, and governance concerns throughout delivery.
  • Collaborate with delivery leaders, architects, developers, project managers, and client stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes within scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Support a high-performing delivery culture through effective communication, technical mentoring, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Research emerging ServiceNow capabilities, industry trends, and innovative approaches to recommend platform enhancements and continuous improvements.
  • Deliver measurable outcomes such as stronger asset visibility, improved lifecycle control, greater software compliance, cost optimization, and increased operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • 8–12 years of experience in IT services, enterprise architecture, consulting, solution delivery, or a closely related field, including at least 4 years of hands-on ServiceNow experience.
  • Significant experience architecting or implementing ServiceNow HAM, SAM, ITAM, or related asset-management solutions within enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of hardware asset lifecycle management, including procurement, receiving, inventory, stockroom operations, deployment, reclamation, refresh, return, and disposal.
  • Strong knowledge of software asset-management practices, including software discovery, normalization, software models, publisher content, entitlements, license reconciliation, compliance, and optimization.
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB and CSDM principles and the governance of asset and configuration data.
  • Experience designing integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise platforms such as ERP and procurement systems, endpoint-management tools, discovery platforms, contract-management systems, and software-license data sources.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow ITOM capabilities, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Cloud Management, Orchestration, CMDB, and CSDM.
  • Strong ServiceNow configuration and development knowledge, including JavaScript, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, UI Pages, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Experience with enterprise integration technologies and protocols such as SSO, SAML, SSL/TLS, web services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, SOAP, SCP, and FTPS.
  • Ability to produce clear architecture diagrams, technical designs, data flows, functional requirements, and implementation documentation.
  • Strong client-facing communication, workshop facilitation, requirements analysis, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • A consultative and product-minded approach, with the ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes and long-term sustainability.
  • Strong engineering judgment and a commitment to applying sound architecture and delivery principles.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt quickly to changing requirements, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification is preferred.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist certification in Hardware Asset Management, Software Asset Management, or related product areas is strongly preferred.
  • Additional ServiceNow certifications covering CMDB, ITSM, ITOM, or other platform areas are considered an advantage.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and expertise.
  • Opportunity to work on complex, enterprise-scale ServiceNow architecture and asset-management initiatives.
  • Exposure to a broad technology landscape spanning HAM, SAM, ITAM, CMDB, CSDM, ITOM, ITSM, integrations, and enterprise systems.
  • Client-facing responsibilities that provide significant ownership and influence over solution strategy and delivery.
  • Collaborative environment bringing together architects, developers, project managers, and business stakeholders.
  • Opportunities for continued professional growth through exposure to evolving ServiceNow capabilities and industry practices.
  • Supportive and inclusive workplace culture where diverse perspectives are valued and employees are encouraged to contribute.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities while taking meaningful ownership of technical outcomes.
  • Opportunity to make a measurable impact on asset governance, software compliance, operational efficiency, and technology cost optimization.
