Job Description
*POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products within a commercial bakery environment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production schedules, and ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently while following food safety and quality standards.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receive and inspect incoming deliveries for quality, accuracy, and damage.
• Unload trucks and move inventory using pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment.
• Store ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods in designated locations.
• Load finished bakery products onto delivery trucks for distribution.
• Conduct inventory counts and assist with inventory control activities.
• Maintain accurate records of receipts, shipments, transfers, and inventory adjustments.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation procedures.
• Ensure warehouse areas are clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards.
• Monitor storage conditions and report damaged, expired, or non-conforming products.
• Assist with waste reduction and product quality initiatives.
• Adhere to all company safety policies, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and OSHA requirements.
• Communicate effectively with production, purchasing, quality assurance, and transportation teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
*QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
• Experience in a food manufacturing or commercial bakery environment.
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to bend, squat, reach, push, and pull throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, and warehouse environments as needed.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.
*WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Fast-paced commercial bakery and warehouse setting.
• Exposure to flour dust, bakery ingredients, varying temperatures, and production equipment.
• May require overtime, weekends, holidays, or flexible scheduling based on production demands.
