Are you passionate about providing top-notch customer service in residential property management? Look no further! We are seeking driven, professional & energetic candidates to join our Residential Operations team for the position of Maintenance Technician, Team Lead, located at our properties located in Kingston, Ontario.

The Maintenance Technician, Team Leader is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of the property through general maintenance and up-keep of the assigned region and properties as well as being the team lead to all other maintenance technicians within the region. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician, Team Leader is responsible for the supervision of on-site maintenance activity including ordering supplies and maintaining standard operating procedures, as well as ensuring maintenance, repairs, and inspections are scheduled and completed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner to the highest level of operational efficiency.
What you will be doing:
  • Ensure that the day to day maintenance operations of all properties in the portfolio are completed and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner to the highest level of operational efficiency.
  • Maintaining the physical integrity of the building through general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.) and cleaning in all occupied units up to standards and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain log books in accordance with Property Management's specifications and investigate and record all fire log requirements, including daily, weekly, and monthly entries.
  • Ensure completion of all preventative maintenance at the site and review, monitor, and inspect all building functions.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance and repair requests from the Property Manager or tenants to address emergencies and urgent after-hours requests.
  • Performing physically demanding repair work, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc., in both vacant and occupied units, often requiring the use of ladders and power tools.
  • Contributing to operational excellence through tasks being completed within Skyline standards, and in line with all applicable provincial legislation including Occupational Health and Safety Act, Residential Tenancies Act, and the Human Rights Code.
What we look for:
  • Extensive knowledge of building HVAC, plumbing, electrical, DDC BAS systems and Life Safety Systems.
  • Proven relevant mechanical/electrical aptitude and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to frequently walk, bend, push, pull and lift items, occasionally up to 50lbs as well as go up and down stairs.
  • PC skills are an asset (Word, Excel, e-mail/web).
  • Five (5) years experience in residential maintenance or related field.
  • Building Environmental Systems Certification (Class I & II) BOMI,SMT or SMA an asset.
