Job Description
Ready to specialize? We'll train you in procedural sedation.
Atlanta Fibroid Center is a leading outpatient interventional radiology practice specializing in uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), a minimally invasive alternative to hysterectomy. We're looking for a motivated Registered Nurse who's ready to build a new skill set — no prior sedation experience required. You bring strong clinical fundamentals and sound judgment; we provide structured, paid training and a formal preceptorship to develop you into an independent procedural sedation nurse.
Trade unpredictable scheduling for a Monday–Friday daytime schedule — no nights, weekends, holidays, or call — while building a specialized, in-demand nursing skill set alongside a close-knit team with direct physician collaboration.
What You'll Do
• Train in and progressively administer moderate (conscious) sedation for UFE procedures under physician direction and structured preceptorship
• Perform pre-procedure assessments, IV starts, and patient preparation
• Provide direct pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including monitoring, comfort measures, and readiness assessment
• Provide continuous intra-procedure monitoring: airway, hemodynamics, sedation level, and patient response
• Manage post-procedure recovery, pain control, and discharge readiness
• Recognize and respond to sedation-related events; maintain emergency readiness
• Document sedation care accurately in the EHR (AdvancedMD)
• Conduct pre-procedure and post-procedure telephone triage calls, and provide patient education
• Participate in controlled substance counts and medication management
