Nurse Practitioner in Marietta, Georgia at Optimum Health Injury Centers LLC

Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant is responsible for treating patients and completing documentation.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Perform new patient evaluations and patient re-evaluations.
• Patient re-evaluations.
• Prescription for Care.
• Work in conjunction with Chiropractors, Rehab Tec, and Medical Doctor to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Consult with supervising physician as needed.
• Communicate patient care plans to Front Office Manager / Front Desk / Medical Assistant AFTER EACH VISIT.
• Recommend physical therapy and/or continuing chiropractic care as necessary for pain and treatment.
• Prescribe and call in medication as necessary for pain and treatment.
• Perform procedures, such as Trigger Point Injections, joint injections, PRP therapy, etc. as necessary for patient care.
• Recommend diagnostic testing (MRI's, etc.) and specialist referrals.
• Recommend Durable Medical Equipment (Posture Pumps, TENS, etc.).
• Complete patient documentation within 48 hours of patient visit.
• Correct and respond to chart audit emails within 48 hours. (If more time is needed, please respond with extension request within 48 hours.).

Communication with Patients:

• Explain patient care plans so that patient fully understands what to expect.
• Explain testing and referrals (MRI, Neuro, PRP, Pain Management, DME, etc.0 to patient and give appropriate literature.
• Education patients on the benefits of chiropractic and rehab care.

General/Administrative:

• Supervise the medical assistant.
• Follow OSHA guidelines.
• Follow HIPAA patient privacy guidelines.
• Maintain blue travel cards (log visits, procedures, releases) daily.
• Keep patient wait times to a minimum.
• Attend AM & PM pre-shift case management meetings.
• Attend clinic and corporate meetings, calls, etc. as requested.
• Participate in new hire training and ongoing training as requested.
• Actively participate in requested employee check-ins and performance reviews.
• Assist with training support for existing staff and new staff as needed.
• Bring medical department concerns / issues to the attention of the Practice Manager.
• Assist in the development of medical department protocols.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)/ Bachelor's degree, in a science-related field (e.g., biology, chemistry, or health sciences).
• Become a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) by passing the NCLEX-RN exam after earning your BSN.
• Ability to manage a patient’s overall care, including coordinating referrals to specialist.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for educating patients, collaborating with healthcare team, and documenting care effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to make informed decisions based on patient assessments and evidence-based practices.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other office tools.

• Ability to accurately diagnose common and complex conditions. This includes generating a differential diagnosis by considering the various possible causes of the patient's symptoms and utilizing diagnostic tests (e.g., lab work, imaging) as appropriate.
• Ability to develop appropriate treatment plans for both acute and chronic conditions. This includes prescribing medications, initiating therapies, and providing guidance on lifestyle changes or preventive care.
• Ability to perform specific procedures such as administering injections, interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., X-Ray, imaging), or other hands-on skills required for patient management.
• Ability to balance the demands of clinical practice, patient care, documentation, and administrative tasks.
• Analytical thinking, clinical judgment, evidence-based practice, and ethical decision-making.

Work Environment:

In a Chiropractic/Rehab setting that provides acute care, manage patient care and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Physical Requirements:

• stand or walk for extended periods during patient assessments, procedures.
• Assisting with patient movement or lifting.
• bend, reach, or kneel during patient interactions or medical procedures.
• Using medical tools, performing procedures, and entering data into electronic medical records (EMR).
