Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of shipping, receiving, warehousing, and transportation to ensure efficient, accurate, and cost-effective operations. This role plays a key part in optimizing the flow of materials from suppliers to customers while maintaining full compliance with import/export regulations. The ideal candidate will lead continuous improvement initiatives in freight coordination, warehouse layout, and route optimization to drive operational excellence and reduce costs. Working closely with production, procurement, and customer service, the Logistics Manager ensures seamless supply chain integration, exceptional service levels, and strong team leadership that supports both company goals and customer satisfaction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective movement of goods.
  • Manage import/export compliance to meet all regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Lead freight coordination efforts with carriers and vendors to optimize service levels and control costs.
  • Direct warehouse management operations, including layout optimization, staffing, and workflow improvements.
  • Drive efficiency in distribution operations to support customer and production needs.
  • Ensure accurate inventory control practices through cycle counts, audits, and system updates.
  • Supervise order fulfillment processes to maintain accuracy, speed, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee transportation management, including carrier selection, cost negotiation, and service quality.
  • Implement route optimization strategies to improve delivery efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and customer service to ensure seamless supply chain integration.
  • Monitor and analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Lead, train, and develop logistics staff, promoting safety, quality assurance, and operational excellence.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain management.
  • Strong background in shipping & receiving, import/export compliance, freight coordination, warehouse management, distribution operations, inventory control, order fulfillment, transportation management, and route optimization.
  • Proven success in leading change and turnaround initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational skills, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to supervise teams and build effective vendor partnerships.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and logistics systems.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer while reviewing reports, data, or team communications.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, operating office equipment, and managing digital tools or software systems.
  • Extended visual focus when preparing documents, analyzing information, or reviewing performance metrics.
  • Occasional standing, walking, or lifting of office materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Must maintain focus, attention to detail, and effective communication in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering operational areas (e.g., safety glasses, vests, steel-toe shoes).
