Job Description
Livingston Memorial is looking for a Part Time, 24 hours a week, Farmers Market Manager to join our Development Team.
Come be a part of a company whose mission for the last 78 years is to deliver the highest quality, compassionate in-home healthcare and support services to Ventura County residents!
Job Summary
The Farmers Market Manager is responsible for the operation and growth of Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association's two farmers markets: the established Camarillo Farmers Market and the new market at St. John's Hospital in Oxnard. This role coordinates with farmers, food vendors, artisans, and community partners to deliver a well-run, welcoming market experience at both sites, and plays a lead role in building the St. John's market from initial launch through ongoing operations.
This role is supporting an established Saturday market in Camarillo and the launch of a new market on the St. John's Hospital campus in Oxnard. As Farmers Market Manager, you'll build community, support local vendors, and help fund and extend vital services that bring comfort, healing, and food access to the people LMVNA serves. All proceeds from the Camarillo Farmers Market directly support free grief and bereavement services through Livingston Memorial, and the St. John's Hospital market extends that same mission — expanding food access and community connection to a hospital campus setting. This is a hands-on operational role paired with the relationship-building and organizational responsibility of a staff position: budget accountability, vendor contracting, compliance, and cross-site coordination
What You'll Do
- Vendor Relations & Contracting: Serve as the primary point of contact for farmers, food vendors, and artisans at both markets — confirming participation, assigning booth spaces, and managing weekly and site-specific schedules.
- Market Operations: Supervise setup, market-day flow, and breakdown at both the Camarillo and St. John's markets; ensure vendors follow market policies, health permits, and safety standards at each site.
- St. John's Market Launch & Growth: Lead planning and execution for the St. John's Hospital market, including the phased soft-launch and spring scale-up, in coordination with hospital facilities, security, and community benefit staff.
- Team Leadership: Serve as staff lead for the Farmers Market volunteer team across both locations, providing training, scheduling, and day-of guidance.
- Compliance & Permitting: Track and maintain required permits, certifications, and insurance documentation for both markets, including Ventura County Environmental Health permits and CDFA Certified Farmers' Market certification.
- EBT & Market Match Administration: Manage SNAP/EBT and Market Match processing, including reconciliation and reporting, at both sites.
- Reporting & Financial Accountability: Collect and document proceeds from each market, deposit funds per LMVNA procedures, and provide regular reporting on attendance, vendor participation, and revenue for both locations.
- Community Engagement: Greet customers and hospital staff/patients, answer questions, and communicate how market proceeds and programming support LMVNA's mission at each site.
- Partner Coordination: Serve as the liaison with St. John's Hospital contacts on operational matters, and support marketing coordination for both markets (signage, social media, hospital intranet/website listings).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
