POSITION SUMMARY

The MCP Field Placement Manager serves as a primary contact for Counseling Psychology student practicum placements. This position works collaboratively with multiple internal and external partners including MCP students, training sites, academic programs, faculty, clinic directors, and administrative departments to support and enhance the field placement experience for students while supporting the mission and vision of CIIS.

The position oversees field placement coordination for approximately 200 students rotating through required clinical placements each semester, supports multiple CIIS training clinics, and maintains relationships with approximately 200 active external placement sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote and maintain positive working relationships among students, faculty, academic programs, CIIS clinics, administrative departments, and external training sites and supervisors.
• Disseminate accurate information regarding practicum policies, requirements, deadlines, CIIS procedures, and applicable Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) guidelines.
• Advise and consult with MCP students regarding field placement processes and requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, trainings, office hours, and informational sessions tailored to students at various stages of practicum experience.
• Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of the annual Practicum Fair.
• Track student placements, site information, evaluations, and related records.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and placement information in accordance with institutional policies and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate documentation and assessment of prospective placement sites and partnerships as needed.
• Manage required student criminal background check processes as applicable.
• Process Clinical Practicum Information forms for newly approved placement sites.
• Ensure timely receipt and processing of Supervised Fieldwork Agreements and follow up with students, sites, and internal departments as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Master's Degree in Counseling or a related field preferred.
• Administrative experience in a higher education setting preferred.
• Familiarity with field placement and licensure processes for MFTs and LPCCs preferred.
• Familiarity with Bay Area counseling psychology field placement resources preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management systems preferred.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

This position operates in a collaborative higher education environment with frequent interaction with students, faculty, staff, and external partners. The role requires balancing independent project work with ongoing team collaboration and student support responsibilities.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

Requires prolonged periods of sitting, computer and keyboard use, speaking, and listening during meetings and presentations. May occasionally require lifting or carrying materials up to 15 pounds.

LOCATION

Hybrid work arrangement with on-campus presence required based on operational and student support needs.

WAGES AND BENEFITS

$70,304.00 - $75,000.00

• Working Conditions Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically Monday through Friday.
