Epiphany Center provides trauma-informed, family-centered services that support women and families as they build stability, strengthen recovery, and move toward greater independence.

We're looking for a Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our residential services team. In this role, you'll provide direct support and substance use recovery services to residents while helping maintain a safe, structured, and supportive residential environment.

You'll work closely with residents, children, counselors, and other members of the treatment team to support recovery, daily living, and progress toward greater stability and independence.

As a Substance Use Disorder Counselor, you'll provide direct support and counseling services within Epiphany Center's residential program.

• Provide trauma-informed support and substance use recovery services to residents.
• Supervise and support residents and their children during daily activities and routines.
• Facilitate and support recovery-focused groups, activities, and other program services.
• Provide crisis intervention and respond appropriately to resident needs and behavioral or safety concerns.
• Support residents in following program expectations and developing skills that promote recovery and stability.
• Maintain professional boundaries and protect resident confidentiality.
• Complete timely and accurate client documentation and required records.
• Use Epic to support required client documentation, medication-related workflows, and other program processes.
• Communicate relevant resident information to appropriate members of the treatment team and collaborate across shifts.
• Support medication-related procedures in accordance with program policies and training.
• Help maintain a safe, secure, and supportive residential environment.
• Support residents on both residential floors and provide coverage based on program needs.
• Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, and program activities.
• Operate agency vehicles and transport clients as required.
• Follow Epiphany Center policies, safety procedures, mandated reporting requirements, and trauma-informed practices.

Pay Range: $28.00–$31.00 per hour

Placement within the range is based on relevant experience, qualifications, and credentials.

Schedule:
Friday & Saturday: 6:45 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Sunday & Monday: 2:45 p.m.–11:00 p.m.

Location: San Francisco, CA — On-Site

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in residential treatment, substance use disorder treatment, or a related setting.
• Current registration or certification as an alcohol and other drug (AOD) counselor through CAADE, CCAPP, or CADTP.
• Experience using Epic, completion of applicable Epic training, or the ability to successfully complete required Epic training.
• Valid California driver's license and ability to meet applicable requirements for operating agency vehicles and transporting clients.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain required certification before beginning duties.
• Strong communication, documentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to respond appropriately to crises and maintain sound professional judgment in a residential environment.
• Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and client confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary team members from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work the required Friday–Monday schedule.
• Ability to meet all applicable pre-employment and program requirements.
