Position Overview
We are seeking a high-impact individual to originate, structure, and close asset‑based lines of credit funded directly by MITSUBISHI HC CAPITAL AMERICA, as well as club and syndicated ABL and Lender Finance transactions where MITSUBISHI HC CAPITAL AMERICA acts as agent or participant. This role is central to driving growth for the Business Finance team, sourcing opportunities through direct calling on targeted companies and financial sponsors, as well as through a network of referral partners including banks, accounting firms, private equity firms, investment bankers, law firms, consultants, and other intermediaries. Success in this role requires a strong market presence, deep credit expertise, and the ability to navigate complex transactions while building long-term client relationships.
Location: Remote or from the Business Finance office in Auburn Hills, MI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development & Origination
- Drive new business growth by establishing and achieving quarterly and annual funding volume, fee income, and growth objectives.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of high-quality opportunities sourced through direct origination efforts and referral partners.
- Cultivate, expand, and manage relationships with referral sources and lender partners, including opportunities for syndications and deal sharing.
- Promote the MITSUBISHI HC CAPITAL AMERICA brand and value proposition throughout the commercial finance industry.
Transaction Execution
- Originate, structure, and close asset‑based lending, co‑lending, and syndicated transactions across a range of complexities and commitment sizes (generally $1MM–$25MM, depending on experience and role level).
- Gather and analyze financial information to qualify prospects for credit, collateral, structure, pricing, and strategic fit.
- Prepare pre‑screen memoranda and present transactions to underwriting prior to issuing proposals or term sheets.
- Lead proposal development and negotiations, working closely with credit, underwriting, and legal teams through closing.
- Manage overall transaction execution, including counterparty negotiations and ongoing communications.
- Identify cross‑sell opportunities for other MITSUBISHI HC CAPITAL AMERICA divisions.
- Utilize Salesforce for prospecting, pipeline management, and internal reporting.
Relationship Management & Market Engagement
- Maintain relationships with portfolio clients post‑closing to support future financing needs.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences, in person and virtually, to source opportunities and increase brand awareness.
- Collaborate with marketing to shape go-to-market messaging and origination strategies.
- Maintain awareness of market, economic, and industry conditions impacting client performance and credit structures.
Performance Management
- Own your pipeline and performance, tracking progress against established KPIs, including new business volume, proposal conversion, portfolio yield, and ROI on sales activities.
- Manage sales expenses in accordance with approved budgets and policies.
KPIs (to be finalized with Manager):
- XX $MM in annual new business volume

Qualifications
Experience
- Approximately 10–15+ years of progressive experience in commercial lending, asset‑based lending, or specialty finance, with level determined based on depth of origination success, transaction complexity, and market presence.
- Proven track record of originating and closing ABL transactions; senior‑level candidates will demonstrate experience with larger, more complex and/or syndicated structures.
- Established network of referral sources and industry relationships.
- Experience underwriting, structuring, and closing senior secured revolving and term lending products, including ABL, with familiarity across collateral types (A/R, inventory, equipment) and funding structures.
- Ability to clearly articulate and sell MITSUBISHI HC CAPITAL AMERICA’s non‑bank value proposition, including speed, certainty, and customized deal structuring.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of credit analysis, underwriting, loan documentation, and deal structuring.
- Ability to negotiate effectively while balancing client needs and corporate objectives.
- Strong executive‑level communication, presentation, and relationship‑management skills.
- Highly organized, self‑motivated, and results‑oriented, with strong time management skills.
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, video conferencing platforms, and LinkedIn.
- Strong written, verbal, and listening skills with attention to detail.

Education
- BA / BS in Business or equivalent experience required
- Master’s or MBA preferred
Working Hours
- Hours may vary and may include evenings as business needs require.
Travel
- Travel required on an as‑needed basis for client meetings and industry conferences throughout the U.S.

The position is exempt and the salary will be between $157,000 and $201,300 with an opportunity to earn commission.
The salary range is determined and based on internal equity, market data/ranges, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience and education.
