Located inGreater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college,offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses inWellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate willjoin a vibrant educational community, and have a desire and ability to serve apopulation of students with various needs and backgrounds. The candidate is expected to commit toexcellence in teaching and learning, collaboration and professionaldevelopment. Adjunct faculty areexpected to deliver course materials in a learner-centered environmentconducive to engaging students in the learning process. The faculty member inthis position communicates consistently and effectively with students, facultyand administrators, and responds to communications within a 24 hour period oftime. The faculty is responsible for managing this course through timelygrading of assignments, providing substantial student feedback withassignments, and submission of clinical evaluations, attendance and grades.
Massachusetts Bay Community College invites applicationsfor an adjunct facultyposition in Computer Sciencefrom qualifiedapplicants. Responsibilities will include developing and teaching courses in the areas ofcomputer science. They will also demonstrate an ability to engage, mentor, andwork with diverse student
populations.They will be comfortable offering hands-on laboratory courses byimplementing active learning strategiesusing current computer technologies, software, and tools. The candidate willdemonstrate a strong commitmentto excellence in teaching and learning, collaboration, andprofessional development.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare syllabi and developcurricula to address course/program requirements and student learning
outcomesto meet graduation competencies as appropriate; - Engagein professional development activities to maintain excellence in teaching andlearning;
- Submit midterm and final gradereports, attendance records, early alerts, and other reports pertaining to
assignedcourses by required due dates; - Carryout other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the CollectiveBargaining
Agreement.
This list isnot to be considered all-inclusive. A supervisor may assign other duties asrequired to meet the needs and foster the mission of the College.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a relevant field such as computerscience and information technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action;
- Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
- A PhD in Computer Science or related field;
- Teaching experience in beginning and intermediate level computer networking;
- Experience teaching online or/and remote courses using tools like Cisco WebEx, ZOOM, Google
Classroom, etc.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $1,397 - $1,585 per credit
