Full Job Description:Aspiring Educator (Non-Certified Adjunct Teacher)

Salary Grade:$40,000.00

Position Summary:As an aspiring educator with Tulsa Public Schools, you will be tasked withcreating a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth. The aspiring educatorwill establish effective rapport with all stakeholders (students, families and colleagues); motivatestudents to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good academicfoundation; and master the objectives of each lesson set forth by district curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Associates degree or within 36 hours of a bachelors degree

Experience:
Two (2) years of demonstrated full-time work in an instructional or supervisory role
Successful experience as a classroom teacher, but otherwise ineligible for emergencycertification.

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:
Must be 21 years of age
Meet all district employment requirements, including but not limited to references,background check review, and drug screening
Complete application and pay fee for adjunct teaching status once recommended by thedistrict
Required to complete 20 hours of Tulsa Way Saturday and asynchronous Tulsa WayAcademy training
Required to attend training in the science of reading
Required to attend professional development provided by the district
Aspiring Educators in a core content class must complete a degree or receive anOklahoma teaching certificate within five (5) years unless additional time is granted bypetition
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
