Position Summary:The Early Intervention Mentor serves as a year-round behavioral support leader, providingexpert coaching, planning, and professional development to strengthen school-based capacityin behavior intervention. This role supports the implementation of standardized FunctionalBehavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), while guiding teams intrauma-informed, culturally responsive practices. The Early Intervention Mentor helps ensurestudents behavioral needs are met proactively and equitably, reducing lost instructional timeand improving outcomes districtwide.
Key Functions:
Coaches and supports school teams in implementing schoolwide and tiered positivebehavior supports
Supports the development and implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessments(FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
Develops and delivers professional learning on classroom management, positivebehavior support, and cultural competency
Models and observes positive classroom management techniques in the classroom
Collaborates with MTSS teams, teachers, and administrators to identify and supportstudents needing behavior intervention
Collects and analyzes behavioral data to inform plans and evaluate results
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree, preferably in social work, psychology, child development, specialeducation, or a closely related field
Experience:
Three (3) years work experience in education, social work, or mental health
Licenses and Certifications:
Hold a valid Oklahoma Teachers Certification and maintain it throughout employmentpreferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Sound knowledge of child development and behavior modification
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Willingness and ability to effectively collaborate with teachers, leaders, parents,students, and district personnel
Expertise in working with teams and individuals to develop and implement schoolwideand individual positive behavior support plans
Ability to communicate with at-risk students
Ability to de-escalate heightened student behavior and emotions
Open to change and applies critical thinking while developing solutions based on newguidelines, methods, techniques, and technologies
Ability to manage both up and down and create buy-in from individuals with diverseperspectives and backgrounds for new ideas and approaches
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
Bilingual in Spanish a plus
