Salary/Grade: Educational Grade 05 | EG-5

Position Summary:The Coordinator of Gifted and Talented leads the district's K-12 gifted and talented program.The role designs and evaluates the districtwide service delivery model, oversees studentscreening and identification, and monitors school-based G/T services for compliance withdistrict and state plans. The Coordinator chairs the District Gifted and Talented AdvisoryCommittee, manages the program budget, maintains the district's state-approved G/T plan andrequired state reporting, and serves as evaluator of record for the G/T Instructional Mentors.The role serves on the Assistant Superintendent's Leadership Team and advocates districtwidefor the needs of gifted students.
Key Functions:
Plans, implements, and evaluates the districtwide K-12 gifted and talented servicedelivery model
Oversees district G/T screening and identification
Manages the G/T budget and completes required state gifted and talented reporting
Monitors school-based G/T services for compliance with district and state plans
Chairs the District Gifted and Talented Advisory Committee
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in education
Masters degree preferred
Experience:
Three (3) years successful gifted and talented education teaching experience
Supervisory experience in gifted and talented education
Experience in developing a successful gifted program
Licenses and Certifications:
Possess an Oklahoma teaching certification required
Possess a Valid Drivers License
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of working with gifted and talented students
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of settings, including publicspeaking
Ability to move between independent and collaborative work with ease
Open to change and applies critical thinking while developing solutions based on newguidelines, methods, and techniques
Ability to manage up and down and create buy-in from people with diverse perspectivesand backgrounds for new ideas and approaches
