Position Summary: The IEP Facilitator is responsible for the coordination, planning, andpreparation of special education compliance documentation for students eligible for services atthe campus level. This role is assigned to secondary (middle and high) school sites.In collaboration with the Building Principal or designated Local Education Agency (LEA)representative, the IEP Facilitator supports the facilitation of all IEP meetings to ensure proceduralcompliance and accurate documentation of team decisions. This position serves as the campus-based procedural lead for special education processes, including oversight and coordination ofcampus-wide caseload management to ensure alignment with state and federal timelines.
While caseload teachers maintain responsibility for the development of instructional componentsof the IEP, including present levels of academic achievement and functional performance andmeasurable annual goals, the IEP Facilitator is responsible for maintaining the structural integrityand procedural framework of the plan. The IEP Facilitator supports the Building Principal ordesignated administrative representative in preparation for IEP meetings but does not assumeadministrative responsibility for determinations related to student placement, service delivery, orthe allocation of district resources.
Key Functions:
Coordinate and schedule IEP meetings and related eligibility processes at assignedsecondary campus
Monitor IEP paperwork and submissions to ensure federal and state timelines are met
Support facilitation of IEP meetings in collaboration with the Building Principal or LEAdesignee
Maintain systematic communication among qualified evaluators, service providers,related services personnel, and general education staff
Serve as campus-based procedural lead for special education processes and caseloadmanagement
Complete supplemental compliance documentation (MDR, BIP, ESY, OAAP,Restraint/Seclusion)
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree required
Experience:
Three (3) years classroom teaching experience required
Experience with Edplan or other computer-based documentation system preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
Current OSDE Certification as Special Education Teacher required
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Oklahoma Special Education Policies andProcedures
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in compliancedocumentation and deadline management
Effective written and verbal communication skills for engaging with families, educators,and administrators
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive student information incompliance with FERPA
Proficiency with student information systems and standard office software
Ability to facilitate meetings and support collaborative decision-making in compliancecontexts
