Cumberland Heights Foundation offers a comprehensive benefits program, which includes:

· Employer Contribution for Health Saving Account or Health Reimbursement Account

· 401K with Company match and eligibility after 90 days of employment

· Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual beginning day (1) one and up to 20 days of PTO the first year

POSITION SUMMARY

Cumberland Heights is a nationally recognized addiction treatment organization, and the technology that supports our clinical teams directly impacts patient outcomes. We are at an inflection point: AI and automation tools available to healthcare organizations today have the potential to meaningfully reduce administrative friction and improve how our staff work. Realizing that potential requires someone who can bridge the gap between what is possible and what is practical.

The AI Enablement Specialist is a new role created to do exactly that. This person is the primary executor of Cumberland Heights’ AI roadmap. They work within a purposefully designed resource model: the CSO provides strategic direction, a two-person internal development team provides technical build capacity, and a contracted AI strategy consultant provides senior architectural guidance during complex build phases. The AI Enablement Specialist is the connective tissue — translating organizational needs into scoped projects, coordinating across all three resources, and ensuring that pilots move from idea to production.

Equally important, this person builds the cross-functional relationships and project discipline that make adoption stick. AI tools only create value when people trust and use them. This role owns that challenge.

AI Use Case Identification & Piloting

  • Conduct structured discovery with clinical, operational, and administrative departments to identify high-value AI and automation opportunities
  • Build and maintain a prioritized use case pipeline using a consistent evaluation framework (impact, feasibility, compliance, and cost)
  • Lead pilots from scoping through production deployment, coordinating between internal developers, the AI strategy consultant, and department stakeholders
  • Document pilot outcomes, lessons learned, and scalability assessments

Technology Roadmap Execution

  • Serve as the operational owner of Cumberland Heights’ AI roadmap, tracking progress against approved initiatives and flagging risks or delays
  • Partner with the CSO to translate organizational strategy into scoped, sequenced projects
  • Coordinate vendor evaluations and build-versus-buy analyses, presenting findings in plain language for executive decision-making
  • Monitor the healthcare AI vendor market and bring forward relevant opportunities on a defined cadence

Staff Training & Adoption

  • Design and deliver AI literacy training and hands-on workshops for staff across departments and roles
  • Create role-specific guidance documents and job aids that make AI tools accessible to non-technical staff
  • Serve as a primary internal resource for questions about approved AI tools, including the organization’s ChatGPT Enterprise environment
  • Identify and develop internal AI champions within departments to sustain adoption between formal training cycles

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all AI initiatives are implemented in accordance with the organization’s AI Acceptable Use Policy and HIPAA requirements
  • Maintain documentation of active AI tools, integrations, data access patterns, and approval status
  • Participate in governance reviews and flag emerging compliance considerations as new tools or capabilities are introduced
  • Uphold the organization’s explicit boundary: AI supports and removes friction from administrative work; it does not replace or augment clinical judgment

Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain a project management discipline across all active AI initiatives, including clear owners, timelines, and status reporting
  • Serve as the primary liaison between IT, the development team, the AI strategy consultant, and department leads
  • Communicate progress, risks, and decisions in formats appropriate to the audience — from IT technical staff to executive leadership
  • Provide regular status reporting to the CSO on roadmap progress, active pilots, and emerging risks, and participate in executive-level reviews as requested
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships across the organization as the face of AI enablement
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required
  • 3+ years of experience in a technology, operations, or project management role with direct exposure to AI or automation tools
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects from scoping through delivery
  • Strong communication skills — comfortable translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences and organizational needs for technical teams
  • Familiarity with enterprise AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or comparable platforms) and practical experience applying them in a business context
  • Working knowledge of data privacy principles and compliance considerations relevant to AI deployment

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or other regulated environments (HIPAA experience a strong plus)
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, or AI governance frameworks
  • Experience designing or delivering technology training for non-technical staff
  • Relevant certifications or coursework in AI, project management (PMP, CAPM), or healthcare IT

Measurable Outcomes

  • Roadmap execution: Active AI pilots progressing on schedule with documented outcomes
  • Adoption: Departments using approved AI tools with measurable reduction in manual effort
  • Staff capability: AI literacy workshops delivered; internal champions identified and active
  • Governance: All active AI tools documented, approved, and compliant with AUP and HIPAA
  • Stakeholder confidence: Department leaders view this role as a trusted resource, not a technology imposition
