The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to receiving, storing, and distributing products. This person in this position must be able to work independently and as part of a team, possess strong organizational and communication skills, be able to meet tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy, and demonstrate a high commitment to safety.
Key Tasks
- Receive, unload, and stock products.
- Verify accuracy of inbound and outbound shipments and inspect products for damages or defects.
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
- Organize and maintain inventory. Communicate any discrepancies or damaged products to department management.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, as trained, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Participate in keeping the warehouse clean and organized.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
- Work independently, yet as a collaborative team member.
- Take ownership of responsibilities and strive for continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Solid work history. Previous experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment.
- Excellent organizational and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Ability to learn and use new software programs. Familiarity with an ERP or related software beneficial.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (30 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs on occasion).
- Ability to work in a climate-controlled warehouse environment.
- Ability to stand, move, squat, reach and climb for up to 8 hours at a time.
