Data Integration Engineer Job DescriptionJob Summary

The Data Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining system integrations to support various client needs. This role focuses on integrating enterprise systems, managing data flows, and ensuring seamless interoperability between applications and platforms. The position requires expertise in cloud-based integration tools, API management, and data pipeline development, with an emphasis on scalable and secure architectures.

Supervisory Responsibilities

While this position has no direct reports, it is expected that the Data Integration Engineer will act in a leadership role within projects, providing guidance and oversight to team members and mentoring junior staff as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage integrations between enterprise systems, databases, and APIs to ensure real-time and batch data processing.
  • Work with cloud-based integration platforms and tools, such as Azure API Management, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or similar technologies, to facilitate data exchange and processing.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to integrate ERP, CRM, and manufacturing systems, ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.
  • Design and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based integration solutions.
  • Develop and support IoT and edge device integration strategies, enhancing connectivity and automation in enterprise environments.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand integration needs and provide technical recommendations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Mentor and support other team members in learning and implementing integration best practices.
  • Maintain technical documentation for integration processes, workflows, and system architectures.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Five years of system integration development, with expertise in cloud-based integration tools and services
  • Strong background in API development and management, ETL pipelines, and data transformation processes
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work as a part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex system integrations
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude
Desired Education and/or Experience
  • Degree in Computer Science or relevant field
  • Proven experience as an Integration Engineer or similar role
  • Ability to train and mentor the work of junior engineers
  • Proven experience implementing solutions in cloud-based platforms
  • Experience working in hybrid work models and across distributed teams
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
