Job Description
Position Summary:
Works as the leader of the tube mill team with the responsibility for ensuring all daily workloads are being completed on time, efficiently, and safely. Lead the team in quality initiatives, guidance and training. This position is a hands-on job with the expectation of leading by example.
Essential Responsibilities:
Maintains a working knowledge of all Tube Mill operations and SOP’s and have the ability to operate them as well
Audit weekly the department’s QC checks to ensure proper documentation is being recorded
Works with other departments on quality and production concerns
Ensures that tube inventory levels are stocked daily/weekly for Metal Fabrication
Direct and perform maintenance on equipment and log weekly/monthly/yearly
Directs and performs tooling changes to ensure accurate placement and alignment of all tooling
Documents each run on the department’s production tracking log
Participates in interviews for any new team members
Non-Essential Responsibilities:
Ability to lift 70lbs for a Tooling Change
Performing other duties as assigned
Comply with all safety regulations
Continue to look for continuous improvement ideas and implement
Maintain a high level of professionalism within the organization
Ability to read Engineering part drawings
Leadership Responsibilities:
Determines work assignments, priorities, and procedures for team members. Provides training, guidance, and mentorship to team members. Responsible for assigning, scheduling, and ensuring the quality and quantity of work.
Education & Experience:
High School diploma or GED
1+ years of previous manufacturing experience. Leadership experience is a plus, preferred experience operating a tube mill/roll forming but not mandatory
Strong Mechanical/electrical knowledge preferred
Welding knowledge a plus
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Understanding of quality control methods and systems
General knowledge of J-Star policies and procedures
Ability to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently
Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken and be computer literate
