Hardware Machine Operator
Job Descriptions
We are fast paced precision metal fabrication company seeking to add a Hardware Machine Operator to our team. The operator will use a Haeger machine to insert pems or other hardware into parts fabricated from materials such as sheet metal, alloys, stainless steel, and aluminum.
The individual will work within the group to achieve quality, productivity, and employee performance goals. This is a full-time position including some overtime and Saturdays when needed.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Log into job via data collection system before starting job
· Using a print, verifies that specified hardware is installed in the correct location
· Positions, aligns, and bolts specified dies over anvil and ram and sets screws to adjust depth and pressure limit of ram stroke
· Aligns holes of work pieces with the anvil of machine
· Positions pems or hardware with holes in work pieces over anvil or against fixtures
· Depresses pedal to lower ram that inserts the PEM or hardware into the work pieces
· Performed first run check and have it signed off by Lead or QC.
· Inspects completed and in-process pieces to verify conformance to the customer and company standards
· Continue to self-inspect part thought-out run to ensure quality.
· After completing job record part counts and log out of job via data collect system.
· Move job to next operation.
· Follow ISO related quality policies, procedures, and documentation requirements
· Follow departmental safety requirements including proper use of PPE as required
· Perform other duties as needed
Physical Demands
· Must be able to maintain a quick and steady pace working efficiently throughout the shift. Typical work shift is from 8 to 10 hours.
· Rotation of head/neck, bending and twisting at the waist, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, use of high and low impact vibratory tools, flexion/extension, contact with metals, lubricants, solvents, exposure to noise, and the use of personal safety gear for face, eyes, hand/arm and ears.
· Requires standing or sitting for long periods of time.
· Able to concentrate, focus, and pay strict attention to detail
· Good manual dexterity is required for operating equipment and moving workpieces
· Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
· Adaptable to a changing work environment
· Contact with metals, lubricants, solvents, and exposure to noise
Environmental Exposure
· Confined spaces, high noise levels, moving objects such as forklifts and carts.
· Exposure to hot temperature when working new ovens or in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
· Previous Metal or Fabrication experience with riveting, hardware insertion, metal assembly, powder, paint prep., etc. is desired
· Previous knowledge and experience in assembly of products utilizing prints for reference is preferred
· Ability to take direction; working as a part of a team as well as independently
· Organizational skills
· Must have good English skills (verbal and written), excellent attention to detail
· Basic math skills and be able to keep accurate count of parts processed.
· Effective decision maker with a can-do attitude
· Self-managed; Team player

Pay: $19.50 - $23.00 per hour (non-exempt)
