About Pet Meadow
At Pet Meadow: Austin we specialize in providing compassionate, professional, and reliable pet cremation services to veterinary hospitals and the families we serve. We are seeking a professional, compassionate individual to serve as an Aftercare Transportation Specialist - transporting beloved pets from veterinary clinics to our care, while treating every family and pet with dignity and respect. Part of the role will also be acting as the first point of contact for grieving families and veterinary partners, and guiding them through the aftercare process with dignity, empathy, and care.
Responsibilities
Transportation Specialist:
• Safely operate company vehicles to transport deceased pets from veterinary clinics, crematory locations, and private residences to our facilities
• Bring deceased pets into our care with professionalism, dignity, and respect
• Serve as the face of Pet Meadow at every clinic visit - representing our brand with professionalism, warmth, and care in every interaction with veterinary staff and clinic partners
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clinic teams through consistent, dependable service and a friendly, approachable presence that reinforces trust in Pet Meadow
• Maintain accurate documentation and a detailed chain of custody for each pet
• Verify all paperwork for accuracy and completeness at every stop
• Support the cremation process as needed
• Adhere to all safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment, and follow company procedures
• Keep assigned company vehicle clean, organized, and in good working condition
Client Services Representative:
· Serve as the primary point of contact for pet families and veterinary hospitals via phone, email, and in-person interactions
· Offer genuine empathy and understanding to grieving pet owners, ensuring they feel supported and cared for during their difficult time
· Provide clear and accurate information about the cremation process, service timelines, and available memorial products
· Schedule and confirm appointments for witness cremations, viewings, and memorial services
· Support families through the viewing process by answering questions and providing compassionate care
· Keep clients and veterinary partners informed on pet status, special orders, and memorial products from start to finish
· Address and resolve client concerns in a timely and professional manner, ensuring consistent and reliable support.
· Maintain detailed records of each pet's cremation process, including client preferences, special requests, and chain of custody documentation
Required Skills & Experience
• Valid, clear driver’s license and record (required)
• Punctual and reliable, with strong attention to detail and organization
• Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow processes accurately and on time
• Able to work independently on long driving routes
• Commitment to safety and company policies
• Compassionate, respectful, and professional demeanor
• Strong customer service, communication, and phone skills
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities calmly
Preferred Skills
• Experience in a pet-related field, after-care industry, or transportation industry
• Experience driving a commercial van
• Experience with GPS apps
• Passion for working with and caring for animals - animal lovers encouraged to apply!

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Regular local and regional driving on assigned routes
• Frequent lifting, carrying, and movement of pets weighing up to 60 pounds
• Use of personal protective equipment (gloves, gowns, masks, etc.) as required
• Exposure to varying weather conditions during transportation
• Work performed primarily in vehicles, veterinary hospitals, and crematory settings
