This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps.

Our partner is looking for a Gestionnaire – Comptabilité based in Canada.

This role sits at the core of financial integrity and operational excellence, ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and compliance across complex business activities. You will oversee critical controllership functions tied to vendor funding programs, including promotional funding, purchase discounts, and inventory-related adjustments. In this leadership position, you will guide a team of accounting professionals, collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, and play a key role in improving financial processes and controls. The environment is dynamic and collaborative, requiring both technical expertise and strong leadership to support month-end close, compliance obligations, and strategic financial decision-making. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to business performance while strengthening accounting operations in a large-scale, fast-paced organization.

Accountabilities
  • Lead accounting operations related to vendor funding programs, ensuring accurate treatment of promotions, discounts, and inventory-related financial adjustments.
  • Oversee monthly close activities including GL reconciliations, journal entries, balance sheet and P&L variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal policies, and control frameworks across all assigned accounting areas.
  • Manage and support month-end deadlines by allocating resources effectively and maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve SOX and non-SOX processes to strengthen financial controls and reporting accuracy.
  • Partner with internal and international stakeholders to support new business initiatives and provide accounting guidance on complex transactions.
  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of accounting professionals, fostering engagement, performance, and continuous growth.
  • Support financial reporting requirements, ad hoc analyses, and accounting research in collaboration with senior finance leadership.
  • Drive process improvements and contribute to initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and operational effectiveness.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within a mid-sized to large organization.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and controllership best practices.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with large and complex financial datasets and analytical tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and exposure to BI or financial reporting tools.
  • Experience in retail or complex inventory-based environments is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, build trust, and foster a high-performance culture.
Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary of $115,000 – $130,000 CAD.
