About the role
- CBH Medical is looking to directly hire a Registered Nurse for the medical department at Prince George's County Correctional Center. Corrections experience is a plus. We offer competitive wages, great benefits, and much more!
What you'll do
- Assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and provide written assessments upon admission, during confinement, and at discharge
- Obtain health histories, summarize assessment data, and make triage decisions that are documented and communicated to the care team
- Develop and implement individualized treatment programs utilizing approved protocols as directed by the Medical Director
- Administer medications using proper techniques including IV therapy and all other approved routes; obtain diagnostic tests per physician orders
- Implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans as ordered and refer patients to appropriate providers as needed
- Document all nursing encounters using SOAP charting and communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, correctional officers, and department heads
- Provide leadership to nursing staff, identify problems, and recommend improvements in patient care, procedures, and equipment
- Participate in quality assurance chart reviews, in-service education, and support all OSHA and employee safety programs
- Perform within the limits of the state practice act, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and all CBH Medical policies and procedures
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently licensed Registered Nurse in the state where duties are performed (Required)
- BLS/CPR Certification (Required)
- Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program; Baccalaureate degree preferred but not required
- Minimum two years of clinical experience
- Corrections experience a plus
