This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Discovery Diagnostic Sales Specialist based in the United States.
This role is an exciting opportunity to drive growth across innovative diagnostics solutions within the life sciences industry. You’ll manage a designated territory, identifying new opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing customers. The position combines commercial strategy, technical knowledge, and consultative selling to address complex diagnostic application needs. You’ll work closely with customer R&D and technical teams as well as internal scientific, product, and field application experts. Success will depend on your ability to understand market dynamics, translate customer needs into solutions, and build long-term partnerships. The role is fully remote within the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions, with significant travel to support customers and business development. It offers the chance to contribute directly to technologies advancing research, diagnostics, and future healthcare solutions.
- Serve as the primary solutions resource for diagnostic application needs across the assigned territory, building trusted customer relationships and representing the organization with professionalism and strong technical understanding.
- Develop and execute strategic territory plans in collaboration with internal teams and distribution partners to achieve account growth and expand market presence.
- Manage sales pipelines and provide accurate, timely forecasting through CRM tools while delivering against quarterly and annual commercial objectives.
- Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities, including qualified marketing-generated leads and strategic growth opportunities.
- Lead pricing discussions and contribute to the development and execution of complex commercial opportunities and strategic deals.
- Partner with customer R&D and technical teams to understand application challenges and recommend solutions that support successful outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal R&D, field application, product, and commercial teams to develop customer-focused solutions and accelerate execution.
- Monitor market dynamics, customer needs, competitive opportunities, and emerging areas of growth to inform territory strategy.
- Support customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term account development through responsive technical and commercial engagement.
- Deliver technical presentations and training sessions while coordinating and influencing stakeholders across functions and geographies.
- Bachelor’s degree in a Life Sciences discipline such as biology, biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of commercial experience, preferably within the life sciences, diagnostics, biotechnology, or related industry.
- Practical knowledge or experience with technologies and applications such as magnetic beads, lateral flow, membrane-based applications, or Next Generation Sequencing.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, distribution partners, and internal stakeholders across functions and geographies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with a commercial mindset and the ability to identify and act on growth opportunities.
- Experience using CRM and sales enablement tools, particularly Salesforce or comparable platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver technical presentations and customer training.
- Ability to coordinate, lead, influence, and align diverse internal and external teams toward shared objectives.
- Experience with QlikSense or advanced CRM applications is considered an advantage.
- A Master’s or Ph.D. in biology, biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, or a related discipline is a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% as required by customer and business needs.
- Competitive base salary range of $110,000–$125,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and other applicable factors.
- Eligibility for bonus or incentive compensation in addition to base salary.
