Senior Oracle Budgeting and Planning (PBCS) Specialist

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Oracle Budgeting and Planning (PBCS) Specialist in Canada.

In this role, you will act as a senior functional and technical expert within Oracle EPM environments, supporting enterprise planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes. You will play a key role in optimizing and enhancing Oracle PBCS, Hyperion Planning, and Essbase solutions, ensuring alignment with business and financial requirements. Working closely with Finance, Accounting, and IT stakeholders, you will help translate complex planning needs into scalable system configurations. The position combines hands-on technical execution with advisory responsibilities, including system improvements, integrations, and troubleshooting. You will also contribute to training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer across teams, helping elevate overall capability maturity. This is a high-impact role supporting financial transformation initiatives across enterprise clients in a dynamic consulting environment.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will support and enhance enterprise planning and forecasting systems while acting as a key advisor for Oracle PBCS and Hyperion solutions.

  • Provide expert-level support for Oracle PBCS, Hyperion Planning, and Essbase environments
  • Configure systems to meet business planning, budgeting, and forecasting requirements
  • Design and execute testing strategies, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing
  • Lead or support end-user training and knowledge transfer sessions
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify issues and implement proactive system improvements
  • Participate in solution design and implementation for financial planning applications
  • Support integrations and data flows using related EPM tools and frameworks
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to overall team capability development
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong Oracle EPM expertise combined with financial planning knowledge and consulting experience in enterprise environments.

  • 5+ years of experience with Oracle Hyperion Planning and/or Oracle PBCS (EPM Cloud)
  • Hands-on experience with Essbase, Financial Reporting (HFR), and EPM data integration tools (e.g., FDMEE, DRM, ODI)
  • At least one end-to-end Oracle EPM upgrade or migration project experience
  • Strong experience developing Business Rules and Essbase scripting (3+ years)
  • Solid understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex system and data issues
  • Experience working in full software development lifecycle (SDLC) environments
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact with business and technical stakeholders
  • Experience in consulting, advising clients, and delivering best-practice solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, IT, or equivalent experience (advanced degree is a plus)
  • Oracle EPM certification and automation experience (REST API, SQL, EPMAutomate) are strong assets
