Recreational Gymnastics Instructor (Part-time) in East Petersburg, Pennsylvania at Spooky Nook Sports Inc

The Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for running all Intro to Gymnastics and Pre Team classes in a kid-oriented, professional and energetic manner. The Gymnastics program lives in our Spooky Nook Lanco location in East Petersburg, PA, so this position will primarily work at that location.

Schedule Requirements: Weekday evenings 4:30pm - 7:30pm, Saturday between 9:30am-4:00pm, and Sunday between 10:00am-4:00pm

NOTE: Because this position will involve routine interaction with children, all candidates must successfully obtain the following clearances PRIOR to beginning employment:

1. PA State Police criminal history record,
2. PA Child Abuse Clearance, and
3. FBI Fingerprint-based criminal history clearance.

Essential Job Functions

• Formulate lesson plans and skill development programs for our Intro to Gymnastics and Pre Team programs
• Maintain an engaging, energetic and fun atmosphere
• Provide instruction to youth of varying ages maintaining attention of all team members
• Greet and welcome parents and children in a warm, friendly, and timely manner
• Maintain and monitor a clean, safe and healthy environment for children to play and learn
• Consistently attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings
• Utilize iPads to track attendance, maintain participant records, and support daily class operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to offer consistent availability between September-January, January-May, and June-August
• PA Child Abuse Clearance and FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance: Must be dated within the past 5 years and specifically for employment (not volunteer).
• NOTE: If you do not have already these clearances, you will be provided with instructions when an offer of employment is made. Results can take up to 4-6 weeks. Both clearances must be presented before employment can begin.
• 18 years of age or older
• Experienced in gymnastics and/or dance
• Extensive gymnastics, dance and cheerleading coaching experience
• Ability to demonstrate gymnastic skills in curriculum to students
• Interactive and hands-on, comfortable instructing children of various ages
• Established curriculum focusing on gymnastics, cheerleading and tumbling
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Dependable transportation to and from work
• Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication
• Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality

Working Conditions

• Work environment: Upbeat, high-energy sports and event complex with heavy foot traffic and frequent large crowds.
• Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, standing, sitting, bending, reaching with hands and arms, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and smelling. The team member will be frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
• As a Group Fitness Instructor, the team member must be physically capable of performing the movements required of the specific group exercise class for which he or she is responsible for teaching.
• Lifting requirements: The team member will be required to lift, push, pull, lower and/or move up to 10 lbs regularly, and frequently up to 50 lbs repeatedly as required to instruct members.
• Noise Level: The noise level in this environment is typically moderate to loud.
