Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AI Resilience Fund Manager – Vancouver based in Canada.
This is a founding investment leadership opportunity focused on building a new fund from the ground up around the long-term economic implications of artificial intelligence.
You will develop the investment thesis, establish the portfolio strategy, raise capital, and execute investments designed to remain resilient through technological and structural disruption.
The mandate spans multiple asset classes and takes a deliberately long-term perspective, with a target horizon extending to 2045.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership to refine the thesis as AI, markets, political conditions, and economic structures evolve.
A central part of the role will be developing trusted relationships with limited partners, co-investors, and other key stakeholders.
The environment is entrepreneurial, highly autonomous, and intentionally comfortable with ambiguity, requiring strong judgment and a builder mentality.
This role is suited to an experienced investment professional who wants to create something from inception and shape how capital can support resilience in an AI-transformed economy.
Build and manage a fund focused on investments designed to withstand AI-driven disruption, political instability, labor-market shifts, and broader structural economic changes.
Develop, own, and continuously refine the fund’s investment thesis and portfolio strategy with a 20-year investment horizon.
Lead fundraising from inception, including identifying, sourcing, cultivating, and closing relationships with prospective limited partners.
Build and maintain strong relationships with LPs, co-investors, and other strategic investment partners.
Source, evaluate, structure, and execute investments across multiple asset classes in alignment with the fund’s resilience thesis.
Conduct rigorous investment analysis and make disciplined decisions based on long-term risk, opportunity, and expected value.
Advise fund investors on risk-adjusted positioning and strategies for navigating an economy increasingly shaped by AI.
Monitor technological, economic, political, and market developments that could affect the portfolio and broader investment thesis.
Partner with senior leadership to challenge assumptions, identify emerging opportunities, and evolve the fund strategy as conditions change.
Establish the investment processes, frameworks, and operating discipline required to build and manage the fund effectively.
Serve as a trusted representative of the fund with investors, partners, and other external stakeholders.
Operate with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and sound judgment in an environment where the role and priorities may evolve over time.
Deep professional experience in fund management, venture capital, private equity, institutional investing, or a closely related investment discipline.
Demonstrated experience raising capital, with an established network of potential LPs, co-investors, and institutional relationships.
Strong investment judgment and a proven ability to source, evaluate, and execute investments.
Practical and informed conviction regarding the transformative and disruptive potential of AI, supported by real-world investment or industry experience rather than purely theoretical knowledge.
Experience developing or managing long-term investment strategies and portfolios, with the ability to balance near-term conditions against multi-decade objectives.
Exceptional integrity, discretion, and trustworthiness, with the credibility required to build lasting relationships with investors and partners.
Entrepreneurial and builder-oriented mindset, with the ability to create investment infrastructure, processes, and relationships from the ground up.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to evaluate complex and uncertain market conditions.
Comfort operating with significant ambiguity and incomplete information while maintaining disciplined decision-making.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, particularly when engaging sophisticated investors and senior stakeholders.
Ability to work closely with leadership while maintaining independent ownership of investment decisions and responsibilities.
High level of accountability, curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to evolve the strategy as technological and economic conditions change.
Canadian applicants will be engaged as independent contractors; the role is remote and open to candidates based in Canada.
Founding-level opportunity to build and lead a new investment fund from inception.
Remote work opportunity for candidates based in Canada.
Significant autonomy and ownership over investment strategy, fundraising, portfolio construction, and execution.
Opportunity to work directly with senior leadership on a high-conviction, long-term investment thesis.
Exposure to a broad range of asset classes and emerging opportunities shaped by AI and structural economic change.
Opportunity to establish and cultivate relationships with LPs, co-investors, and influential investment stakeholders.
Mission-driven environment focused on long-term resilience, responsible innovation, and human-centered approaches to AI.
Entrepreneurial culture built around accountability, curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Opportunity to influence how capital is deployed in response to one of the most significant technological transformations of the coming decades.
