The Senior Cloud Data Infrastructure Engineer will design, build, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure while contributing to the evolution of a high-performance data platform. Key responsibilities include:
- Build and enhance a cloud-native database platform running on public cloud infrastructure.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and highly available distributed systems.
- Improve infrastructure capabilities that support database operations, scalability, and performance optimization.
- Develop and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure components, including internal operators for seamless cloud management.
- Enhance metrics pipelines and build systems that generate improved statistics, insights, and operational recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with database engineering teams and other infrastructure groups to support evolving platform requirements.
- Architect solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, and scalability across cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, participate in operational support, and contribute to continuous improvements.
- Work with modern data technologies to improve storage, ingestion, transformation, and processing workflows.
The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale data platforms. Required qualifications and skills include:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Strong programming experience with languages such as Go, C++, Java, or similar technologies.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade cloud infrastructure.
- Expertise with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure, including infrastructure-as-a-service solutions.
- Experience working with distributed systems and solving complex scalability challenges.
- Familiarity with data storage, ingestion, and transformation technologies such as Spark, Kafka, or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, infrastructure automation, and reliability practices.
- Experience debugging production environments and participating in on-call support processes.
