Senior Engineer - AI Workflows

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Engineer - AI Workflows based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to help shape the future of work by designing and deploying AI-powered workflows that transform how teams operate.
You will act as a technical leader, partnering with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and intelligent solutions.
The position combines software engineering, AI innovation, and business collaboration to deliver impactful AI agents from concept to production.
You will contribute to building scalable frameworks, best practices, and safe AI adoption strategies across a global environment.
Working within a fast-moving engineering team, you will experiment with emerging AI technologies while solving complex operational challenges.

Accountabilities:

As a Senior Engineer - AI Workflows, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven solutions that improve productivity and enable smarter ways of working. You will collaborate with business teams, technical stakeholders, and subject matter experts to translate operational challenges into scalable AI workflows.

  • Design, build, and deploy AI agents and workflow orchestrations using modern AI platforms and large language models.
  • Develop integrations between AI systems and enterprise platforms such as CRM, HR, collaboration, and finance tools.
  • Create reusable automation patterns, frameworks, and templates that enable broader adoption of AI capabilities.
  • Establish evaluation, monitoring, and governance approaches to ensure AI solutions are reliable, secure, and effective.
  • Lead AI projects from discovery through production deployment while acting as a technical advisor and advocate.
  • Partner with non-technical teams to understand business needs and deliver practical AI-powered solutions.
  • Support knowledge sharing through coaching, workshops, documentation, and collaboration with engineering teams.
Requirements:

You are an experienced software engineer with a strong background in building production-grade applications, automation systems, and AI-enabled solutions. You combine technical depth with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.

  • Proven experience developing and operating applications, automations, or integrations in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience building AI solutions such as agents, copilots, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, or intelligent workflows using LLM technologies.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or TypeScript, with experience working with APIs, SDKs, and webhooks.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure, system design, security principles, auditability, and scalable architecture.
  • Ability to approach problems from a systems perspective and design solutions with appropriate controls and safeguards.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to convert complex challenges into technical solutions.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills with a passion for improving AI literacy within teams.
