Threader in Houston, Texas at Madden Bolt Corp

The Threader is responsible for safely setting up and operating threading equipment to produce threaded steel products according to sales orders, routers, drawings, and established quality requirements. The position performs machine setup, material verification, threading operations, dimensional inspections, material handling, production documentation, and routine equipment care while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.

• Inspect threading machines, guards, emergency stops, tooling, and equipment before use.
• Review sales orders, routers, drawings, and work instructions to determine job requirements.
• Verify material heat number, diameter, type, and grade before processing.
• Set up, adjust, and safely operate threading machines according to established procedures.
• Properly position and secure material before beginning threading operations.
• Perform first-piece and required in-process inspections to verify thread dimensions and tolerances.
• Use calibrated measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, pitch micrometers, tape measures, and applicable gauges.
• Identify defective or nonconforming threads and report quality or machine issues to the Supervisor or Quality Control.
• Accurately complete Routers, inspection records, SPC documentation, and other required production records.
• Maintain proper material identification and traceability throughout the threading process.
• Safely stage and move steel materials using approved material-handling methods and equipment.
• Operate overhead cranes and rigging equipment only when properly trained, certified, and authorized.
• Maintain threading machines, tools, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform basic equipment care and cleaning within the employee's level of training and authorization.
• Immediately report equipment deficiencies, unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries, and near misses.

• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, Job Hazard Analyses, and safe work practices.
• Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Follow machine guarding and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
• Never touch or adjust material or machine components while they are rotating or in motion.
• Keep loose clothing, jewelry, gloves, and other items away from rotating equipment and material where entanglement hazards exist.
• Use emergency stops when necessary and wait until equipment has completely stopped before making adjustments.
• Operate only equipment for which the employee has been properly trained and authorized.

• Complete required new-hire, HSE, and Threader-specific training.
• Demonstrate the ability to safely set up and operate threading equipment.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, Routers, drawings, and production instructions.
• Ability to use applicable measuring and inspection equipment.
• Basic understanding of thread dimensions, specifications, and tolerances.
• Ability to identify defective or nonconforming products.
• Complete supervised hands-on training and demonstrate competency before independent machine operation.
• Maintain required crane or equipment certifications when applicable.

The Threader is expected to consistently demonstrate safe work practices, produce material within required specifications, complete accurate inspections and documentation, maintain acceptable productivity, properly care for equipment, maintain good housekeeping, and comply with company policies and procedures.

Work is performed in an industrial steel manufacturing environment around powered machinery, rotating equipment, steel materials, cranes, tools, and material-handling equipment. The position may require prolonged standing, bending, reaching, handling materials and tools, and working in areas with industrial noise and moving equipment.
