  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps and recommending enhancements.
  • Support a collaborative, high-performance team environment focused on innovation and professional development.
Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in life and/or critical illness underwriting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical, financial, and lifestyle risk assessment principles.
  • ALU certification required, with progression toward FALU designation considered highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage complex underwriting cases, including large face amounts and premium structures.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex decisions clearly.
  • Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and external partners.
  • Client-focused mindset with a strong commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement.
Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary range of CAD $80,000 to $128,000, plus eligibility for incentive programs.
  • Hybrid work model with flexibility between remote and office-based work.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and wellness benefits.
  • Retirement savings programs with employer contributions.
  • Paid care days, sick days, and wellness-focused time off options.
  • Access to internal “gigs” and cross-functional assignments for career development.
